You're doing great.

I am leaving at about 5k, but i do it a little backwards (can't say if thats a good or a bad thing). I slide the clutch until i'm 30-40 feet out and then fling it the rest of the way. Seems to work for me, can't say if it will work for anyone else though

Got the Litz today and installed it.....................very very stiff...............but still rubs the inner fender when I launch on the street.................... what can I do about that and still have a working suspension?

Raise it back up. If you have the 3 hole lowering links, switch them for the threaded fully adjustable type. You can get lower then the #2 link but higher then the #3 link.

Or just raise it back up and save your money for better toys

Thanks, I do have the fully adjustable links.......... I raised it about 1/2" and went to the track tonight with the Litz shock............... Density Altitude readings in the 2200-2300 ft range, not very good.

I am a believer in the Litz! Holy crap............ made 5 back to back passes when they opened and nobody was there........ first pass right off the street was

9.56 @ 143.33 with a 1.51 60 ft.

Trying to learn how to launch this thing is going to be difficult. I tried too little and too much and it never spun. I rode some big wheelies tonight (lol) and wasn't thinking it would do that at 64"............ dead hooked no matter what I did............ I can't find a happy medium to leave at and can't seem to figure out a good release that works for me. This will take some time.

Best pass of the night was 9.50 @ 142.96 with a 1.50 60 ft at 2218 ft. DA (sea level corrected is 9.25 @ 146.22) What would have been the best pass of the night ended up at 9.57 at 117 mph missing 4th gear and coasting through..... Surely that one would have been well into the 9.40's.

Also, I did manage a 1.49 sixty foot on a pass I messed up and missed 2nd.......and 4th

The 16t front is going back on for next Tuesday........... hoping for some cool dry weather.....and some 9.3x's

Any other suggestions?

AIRSHIFTER AIRSHIFTER AIRSHIFTER.

You won't miss a shift again. You won't worry about having to pull your feet up. Just push the horn button and the bike does the work for you.

That will at LEAST knock a .1 off your time.

You're making amazing progress. Heck, i can barely 60' in the 1.4s at 65" (my problem is tooo much power though lol).

You're having wheelie problems.. Here's how to check your problem:

at the back of the bike, hold it upright off the kickstand. Press down real hard to make the bike squat. You're looking for two things here, first is how hard/fast it squats and second how slow it rebounds.

You want the bike to squat hard, and rebound slow. HOWEVER it can squat too hard, and it can rebound too slow.

Wheelies are generally caused by too hard of a squat, and too slow of a rebound (a combination). To remedy this, you'll want to tighten up the compression and or speed up the rebound.

I personally start with the compression. Tighten it up 2-3 clicks, and make a pass. Make sure everything was the same (same launch basically). If it improves, you're going in the right direction. If it gets worse, you're going in the wrong direction (at this point go back to starting point and 2-3 clicks in the opposite direction). If it doesnt change, go back to the starting point and start adjusting your rebound in the same manner.

Keep up the great work, and keep us updated!

Thanks!

I need a little help on this......... the Litz revalve has the compression and rebound adjusters both set at one full turn from completely tight. Just to make sure, the compression is the top and the rebound is the bottom adjustment on the shock?

They don't have clicking detents int he adjusters, so how far would you say to turn them in/out?

16 tooth front is back on also........ready for Tuesday night.

I'm not really familiar with the litz.. is it just a stock shock but with a new valve?

rebound screw is at the bottom of the shock and compression at the top. More squat, turn the compression screw counter clockwise. To slow the rebound turn the bottom screw clockwise.

Usually a click is a quarter turn.

Not bad.
Notice on the 957 pass, the bike bogs just a touch but not as bad as on the 950 pass.. That's why you were on a quicker pass (til ya missed 4th). Ideally, you want no bog at all.
I say the 16 tooth will definitely help, especially seeing the video and hearing the bog.
Btw, lovin the background music lol

3400 ft DA and 149.96 mph? How is that possible with a 200 lb rider, or why is my mph so low?

That would be equal to 155 mph at sea level............. wtf?

I'm computer illiterate: Im trying to post the time slips for you to see that Im not sh!tn ya.

made .10 to .15 et + 2mph. My 14 was running 9.85 to 9.97 stock w/b, lost 12 lbs.and it runs 9.71. to 9.76's @
144 to 145mph . 3200 to 3400 ft. I live in Calgary Canada Were the air at its best is at 4000ft. We're 3500ft above
sea level. I'd love to go to the coast and try my sh!t. Your numbers are very impressive for your size buddy !

Not saying I don't believe you, just wondering how two VERY similar bikes with only 20-30 lbs weight difference could be so far apart on mph. At 3400 feet my bike would only go 138-139 so there is a 11-12 mph difference between the two bikes.............. that's huge, much more than 20-30 lbs would cause.

Maybe your MPH up there is in metric.............lol

Qwiktim,go on the net to " medicinehat drag racing association ab." Check out the air from the 25 26 weekend,I made a Mistake! Air was at 4500ft. {sorry}. 80 + degrees,45 percent humidty, hugh winds, not optimum conditions. Thats the way
it is. OH YA, it is metric. But not at the track. LOL

Confused and completely baffled...........

Since going 9.50's at 142-143 in warm 80* weather and 2200+ ft DA, I've waited patiently for cooler weather............. I put back on my 16t front sprocket now that it hooks and went back tonight to try out our absolutely killer 200-400 feet air and mid 40* temps..........................

Exactly the same as last time...............3 passes, all in the 9.50's at 142-143mph with low 1.5 60 ft............. WTF?

Really? No difference in ET or MPH with great weather? Very disappointed, was hoping for a couple tenths and MPH due to this. And why does my bike not MPH like everyone elses?

Humidity. As the temps drop the humidity rises. Humidity robs you of power.... even with better DA numbers the mid 40 temps I bet were pushing over 50% humidity. If you have a logger on your weather station check it.. you'll see.

I have noticed this on my Kestrel weather station. Even when the DA is lower.. say 5900 ft. due to cooler air, the humidity shoots up past the normal 35%ish to around 55-58% and kills all the power that the cooler air would have added. Yeah.. I said 5900 ft. Usually it's about 7000 ft DA at the track I race at. Even with a 1.6 60ft, at my weight, about 295 suited, MPH is only 133ish with an ET of 10.3. It's actually pretty hard for me to run that too. I was consistently running 10.4s this season. Is what it is! I will say this though.. only 3 other bikes that could beat me this last year. The heaviest rider of the 3 was 155lbs and a good friend. He also runs on a zx-14 but with a stock wheel base. He has cracked 1.5 60s a couple times on that bike but even that is only good for a 9.90 @ 140 MPH here. Something to think about. 9.50 ET.. must be nice ;)
