Ya-I replaced the cam sensor-and the throttlecables as well. The symptoms are still there(though tonight she started right up).I didn't let er run through the "cold start"deal.Just wanted to see if she would fire. She did-I was pretty amazed actually. She hasn't been doing that for a while now. When I talked with my old mechanic today to set up the valve check,he mentioned that sometimes a tight valve will cause some odd engine running situations. So I figured"if" that's what's going on,I don't want to run er any extra than taking her over to his place. He'll get it worked out.But it is disappointing, having all this great riding weather here-and being stuck waiting. But it's okay-when he gets her straightened out-the wait will be worth it.Ya never know-maybe God's keeping me from gettin maimed or killed out there?Very glad to hear your job went so well-just great!!!

man sorry to hear about this continuing problem ..I do hope you get it solved ..soon!
The tear down and valve check was a snap ..but just as I was getting cockey as I was buttoning my 14 back up ..I noticed I had left a spacer out of the lower clamps on the throttle bodies..and discovered it ...ya ...just as I was doing a final check before screwing down the air box opening plates ..what ..ensued was funny ...and took forrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrever to get right. I managed to screw up several more things on the retrace..all because I started going too fast ..cuzz I was upset
Oh well got it right and turned the key ..no probs ..so thankfully the beast is back together.
Now I have to do some other basic checks before hitting the long road south to fry !!
God bless you richly bro ..you'll soon put this small prob behind you ..
All things do work together for the good of those who love God..as scripture says.
..He is amazingly faithful.

My bike had 34000km for her first check,I dont know the spec of the what my mechanic found but he said 14 of 16 valves were tight. I know he dose awsome work so I have no doubts in his work and I trust his word. I took her for a spin when I got her home just to see if she felt good and the bike felt awsome. Before the valve check she had a slight stumble at 3000-3500RPM and that is gone as well now. I wont let the bike go over due for a check the next time.

Thanks for taking the time to Document all this Guys (07/Painter).

My bike is due now for the valve check and there are only a couple of options for getting it done in the Province.
So I'm considering doing it myself.

There seems to be two "schools of thought" with the local technicians.

1) If it ain't broke don't fix it.
2) A stitch in time might save nine.

I have no idea what to do.

To finish my "adventure" with my situation-I did get it over to my mechanic's shop.He checked the valves-every one right at factory specs. My bike had 24,000 miles on it.No adjustment needed.Pretty amazing. The starting/running problem was the Muzzy advancer- it had worked loose, was changing the timing on me as I rode.He tightened it up-Runs EXCELLENT now!
