Hello All,
Chose the Ego 727 HD camera over the GoPro. Was just looking for an optimal place to mount it. Does anyone have one, any ideas? Not alot of flat slots on the 14...

Those flat mounts do still work on a slightly curved surface I'm told but I'd def safety wire it if you use it.
Looks like you could remove the screw and bolt right on to Go Pro bases. They make curved self adhesive plates that are more trustworthy.
You could prolly bolt it right on a GoPro suction cup base.
Or just get a TechMount. I got this steering stem mount for $60. The threads in the bottom of your cam are universal fit for all Photo mounts with threads. I ordered the thunmb screw from GoPro but you could find one at the hardware store if you need it. use a small lock washer to go under the mount between the screw head and the bottom of the mounting plate.
The swing arm is sorta flat. Not really but almost. Nice angle. This is my Contour which has flexible rubber mounting plates. Nice idea but The corner has come unstuck. Overall, Still holding on tight though.

no prob. I edited in pics of the TechMount for you above. Got messed up with rearranging my photo library on the last post.
I Youtubed the Ego 727 and saw a MotorX video. Looks like good quality. No sound but but for the price maybe worth it. If you really get into video and editing, I could see that making a fine second camera that you edit clips in with the main camera that has sound. I've been thinking about a third camera for my setup. GoPro Hero3 is amazing but for the price,I'll wait. Already have more than enough to figure out with teh GoPro Hero2 and it does everything I expect except sux in low light. Would be great if I could switch to a standard lens aspect for normal off bike video...i bet the Hero3 can do that and God knows what else....you sorta are getting to where you really don't have use for a normal camcorder any more. LOL

I wish I could find a good spot to get a shot of my speed O and runway ahead on my top speed even but I'm tucked down so far the tank mount will never work. Any ideas guys?

Here's some pics I took holding the GoPro by hand to simulate dif steering stem mount poisitions.
3" behind stem
3" forward
directly above
suction cup mount w cam on top of fuel cap.
Turns out that the simulation was right on the money. Looks same w the TechMount steering stem mount. That's what you need....unless you got something else in your steering stem already.
This a vid made with the GoPro on the stem mount. The GoPro also has dif aspect settings (all quite wide) so that will also effect how much of the view is captured and how much lens aberration. I believe I have the cam on the closest to standard aspect setting in this vid which shows the greatest vertical view and less horizontal.

Rook how does the Contour work on the swing arm? I just bought one and really like where you mounted it...I'm thinking of giving it a try!

This is a bracket I made up for my radar detector. It doesn't work with a stock windsceen, mine is a double bubble. Theres a hole behind the speedo you can mount to. I'm sure you can come up with something, although you wouldn't be able to see the speedo with the camera if thats important to you.
