No such thing as too much into this. Get some pics with you raking through a corner sparks flying up and nobody will question a thing.

Yeah, if i ever sell the big bad B/O busa, you have first dibs. I would be very happy knowing you were enjoying it if I can't for some reason. It's gonna have a Cannon on it though and a Bazzaz Z-fi and AFR. You would like a bike that makes some noise. lol

Oh.. you meant wearing the one piece out in the backroads...? Hell yes! If I'm going to ride hard I'm either going to be wearing that or the Dainese two piece, my left knee is still scarred up from that crash last May. Leather is cheap, skin ain't!

Yep. I don't even think you have to be a big corner carver to wear a 1 or 2 piece suit. Tell y the truth, I enjoy wearing my stuff and that's enough reason even if I don't think there is much chance of falling.

We have a group that rides out of here, a couple of the faster guys are WERA racers, everyone wears a suit or your a squid! Most of these guys have done their fair share of asphalt surfing...LOL! That's good peer pressure!

I think it's well worth $8K, very clean. I may be getting back to you on this, you know I've always wanted a Busa. Mileage is 3K and change?

Not to be a snob, I just think there are certain guidelines we should follow here out of respect for our machines, after all I spend most of my time trying to whoop up on those bikes..

Killa, This is more a laid back website. There are no rules to follow. We tried that. It's better to just let it flow. It is all about why some are not interested. Will all the birdshit in the air coming to get you, and the chess game with the italian tune ups running the checkmate game, this is going to pan out into who has the tea brewing in the pot.

Dis is where the zippers come down, the shewangers come out, the long dong may not win. The fat prick might make her hap pee ear.. Know twat dime saying... Ready set. GO!

Besides, look at Kruz with the cigars. I would think he's tasting one good cigar after the other. His taste in bike would be the same. No problem trying one brand over the other, one model over the other. A stable of two seems one could get along with two birds or a bird and a sword, or a sword and a constant [tune up] stand tin opal. C-O-N stand working on the pee'zzzza piles is ride the sharper edge; no nicks, sand, snore snow, can this bike carry the MaleShepee'zzzzzzzz. Can you say, Bye-Bye!

Listening to that R's engine note, the cam ride up the rpm. I'd say the R is at the top of the heap. Would Suz sit on their hands if they think the same, 'top flight?' I know, 'top model' is here. Chess game is just that. Stale Ma'ma made me do it!

^^^

I spend most of my time trying to whoop up on those bikes..

I've had encounters with busas while riding the 14. I have yet to come across anyone who was really willing to push it except this guy on a silver gen1 i came across a couple years back. That was a memorable 5 miles. One of the coolest street ra-- uh... er... I mean, RIDING experiences I ever had.

At this point in my short sport riding career, I don't find acceptable conditions to coincide with the serendipitous encounter with other bikes too often. I guess the po po has a lot to do with that becuase they are the #1 most common UN-acceptable condition there is.

Yep, right about 3.5K. I will have to check that when I go out to hook up the battery tender. That's the last winterizing procedure before she gets defaired and all the panels get a thorough rub out. The battery seems fine but it went without a charge for an undetermined peroiod of time during both winter storages. The barn had power outages. Never had to jump it. No mice poop or nesting fuzz anywhere, I did see cat footprints in the dust inside the barn a couple years ago.

I'm with the Rookman here...about the encounters.Had a guy on an ST a year or so back....dude hung in the corners alright...till we hit 140.His was done.Another guy on a Black Busa followed me in through some majorly big azz sweeps and deep curves, about 15 miles worth, maybe a bit more....hung pretty close with me....we pulled over to let his wife catch up(I think she was ridin a DUC)...He took his helmet off...dude was at least my age...maybe older. He said...."you're just having too much fun on that thing!"Thought that was pretty cool.

Rode over to my local Kawasaki dealer for a close look at a 14 R, he had one on the floor in blue for $14157 drive
out. I talked to the mechanic and he told me the bike is very fast and will handle the Busa and older 14s no problem. Nothing new there. I looked the bike over pretty closely, nothing appears like it would fit the older machine with the possible exception of the rear foot pegs, clean sheet design but still manages to look like the old one.

OK here's my thoughts, good and bad. First, exhaust looks huge, dwarfs the old one. I imagine that's going to be the first thing to go. New clocks are pretty cool. Styling wise, I'm not sold yet. I always thought the old one was
nicely styled and a hard act to follow IMHO. Overall looks are OK but to my eye not really an improvement, different but not better. The bike looks bulkier much like the restyled Busa did when compared to the original. My '06 almost looked delicate by comparison. Bottom line, I still prefer the looks of the original.

Performance wise, I think it's been established the new bike has a definite edge and the TC, ABS and slipper are all worthwhile improvements. Would I trade in my '06 for a '12. Short answer is no. I didn't feel the excitement I felt when I first saw my bike back in '06. The new bike is different and arguably better in a number of key areas but not enough to trade in.

Please no flames or hate mail, these are just my opinions. I didn't get a test ride so that could have affected my observations. Since I'm a twisties guy not a drag racer so much of the changes would not be of great value too me. I have too much power already for where and how I ride. Meaningful improvements for me would include improved suspension i.e. stiffer, lighter weight and lighter wheels. If I was into drag racing then I would definitely be looking a one of these.

The two bike look similar, but I prefer the looks of the new one. I think the new grills on the side are better integrated with the rest of the fairing. I prefer the real badges on the new one, they look better than the sticker badges of the older model. I agree that the new pipes are too big, but the lights and the gauges both look better on the new model.

I couldn't have said it better Kruz... That was a very great review!!!! I mean, believe me, after my motor blew on the dyno, and I had to rebore.. I ended up with a very similar motor to the 14r, and I wouldn't take it back.. I mean, 25hp over stock is a completely different motorcycle (on NOS, I'm 60 over stock), but I no longer want to drive it on the street....and as far as the looks, yeah, I am more old school.. I think the 14 with a nice tail cover, and stretch, and pipe is the best looking beast alive!!!

But I have to qualify my opinion for the record on the looks thing.. I have always favored the older generations... then about four years later, I move to the next generation, when I am good and ready.. History has always proven that I am wrong and Kawasaki is right I guess. Never really understood why.

You got yer lighter wheels and i think the suspension must have been made stiffer since the suspension was improved. lighter weight? I don't think they're going to be able to get lighter than the 06-011. If the exhaust is really that big, that might come closer to evening up the weigh ins.

The two bike look similar, but I prefer the looks of the new one. I think the new grills on the side are better integrated with the rest of the fairing. Agree with all points but the new exhaust looks a lot better than the old even if it is somehow huger and heavier.
