Dogo, it's time for you to try a Jeffo map...seriously. Being somewhat of a sceptic, you're the perfect candidate for an unbiased review. I've already tried a Jeffo map and was disappointed so there is no point in me going there again. You probably already have a decent map loaded into your PC, let's see if Jeffo can improve your tune over the phone. If you say his maps are good, I'm going to shutup.....deal?

No... Someone wants to send me a map, I'll run it, monitor AFR's, and report back... but... I will not send Jeffo $50. ... He's made too much $$$ from this forum's members already, as far as I'm concerned.

If anyone is going to give out free maps, lol. I want one for sea level, one for 3500 feet, oh yea and if I should go to any mountian passes say 7400ft I would really like them lol. If you want perfect every time the PC will not give it to you at least not a pc3 maybe a pc5 can do it all on the fly but it seams stock things are as good as they can be for altitude changes what do you think?... I am running a DJ map and it sucks azz I will call jeffo get a map and report what i find I also have a map from I--n It was a gift but I am not running tre so not sure about that one.

FREE MAPS!

I ran that EDR map from sea level to 10,000 ft, hard, on my road trip earlier this year. Never stumbled. I know that's not the right map for your bike and setup, XXXES... but just sayin'.

Ivans '06-'07 S/O map for use with TRE 008 also works great without the TRE if your secondaries are removed.

Hub, dont hate Congratulate! The guy has a good scam going tuning bikes over the phone and e-mail. But I think you and I both know that there are way too many varriables to get it right over the phone. I think some times he gets lucky and then a few guys start raving about how good there bikes run with his map and the cash started rolling in! I wish I would have thought of it first, Its kind of like a doctor, here take these meds and if it dont work come back and I will give you something else.

Hub, dont hate Congratulate!

Good attitude!

The guy has a good scam going tuning bikes over the phone and e-mail.

Man you got that right!

But I think you and I both know that there are way too many varriables to get it right over the phone. I think some times he gets lucky and then a few guys start raving about how good there bikes run with his map and the cash started rolling in!

I think you done hit the nail right on the head, he got one right, in this case the 14 and word of mouth sold the rest. CBR1000RR was a dead end though, mine ran like the ECU had been hacked by Jethro Bodine off the Beverly Hillbilly's...no endorsements there!

I wish I would have thought of it first, Its kind of like a doctor, here take these meds and if it dont work come back and I will give you something else.

That was the process and it seemed to work for the 14 or he got really lucky, then the orders started rolling in and he couldn't sell enough of 'em.

This all begs the question, if the process was dial-a-tune over the phone and after a few "tweeks' customer was satisfied, it still doesn't tell us anything about the A/F ratios. I mean, that's what you're getting with a DJ tune, safe A/f ratios, not necessarily peak power or best throttle response.

Hub, not trying to take sides with Jeffo here but the "process" apparently got at least one right, the 14, or so we shall soon see when Slow posts his results.

Phone conversation could have gone something like this:

Caller: I want my 14 to run smooth and make power everywhere.

Jeffo: Send $50 to PayPal and your dreams will come true.

Caller: How do you tune?

Jeffo: Temperature!

Caller: (checks rectal thermometer) 98.6 F

Jeffo: OK, let me add fuel to grids 0 to 100..hows that?

Caller: Flames, lots of them!

Jeffo: What color?

Caller: Orange

Jeffo: Let me take some fuel out and call me in the morning...click!

I know I shouldn't,but...what the hell. The statement.."I tune by temperature"...IDK where that came from.He never once asked me(or anyone else that I heard of with his maps)about temperature.ALTITUDE...yes...that was his main question. He wanted to be very clear on that.Kinda unfair to call him a scam artist I think. He didn't promise me anything that he didn't deliver on.From a good running map to excellent customer service.AND,the option to call him anytime and get any issues sorted.Which he did.He in fact, called me out of the blue and asked how everything was going(MONTHS after I installed his map)Which tells me...I wasn't just a number on a list.Bikewise and otherwise.I don't know...sounds like a standup guy to me?I never had Muzzy call me and ask...any problems with your manual advancer?(which DID have some issues).

You know...right now,he's most likely setting up a map for someone...and trying to be of help.Trying to make their riding experience more enjoyable. And somewhere, right now...he's being slammed for his stuff.I'd say...he's winning, and someone else is losing. And he will continue to win...cause his heart's in the right place. And the others will continue to lose, cause that's where their heart's are at.(WHOEVER and WHEREVER they are)(Myself included).

Well..that's what he asked me about.IDK what he asked others about. He was VERY specific in getting the altitude figure right. But you know....showing interest in your customers satisfaction and all says a lot about someone's character.I never expected Muzzy to call.S'all good.

Great ides HubMeister, kind of a meeting of the minds, Jeffo, Ivan, let them duke it out and may the best man win. Should be interesting, different philosophies, Ivan uses seat of pants, dyno and gas analyzer, Jeffo uses a phone. Should be interesting.

Hey Romes,
Lets give the newbies a taste of the old days since we can't research that site.

Lets do something getting to Quiet around here.

What was the highlight of the Ivan thread that stick in your mind?

For me it was the massive thread on the topic TRE and what was really going on inside the ECU. At that time I did not know what you guys were talking about but I read what I think to be 30 pages of the what I thought was the most complicated bike in the world.

I also remember thinking Hub won the debate but my bike ran better with Ivans Ideas. So I tried everything both ways to get to the bottom of what worked. I learned allot from you guys. Start a new fight brain now going to sleep.

You have no idea how many times I read all those pages. None of the talk worked on my YZ-450 lol.

Jeffo early days tuning aid:

As business began to improve Jeffo invested heavily in new technology to improve customer service:

As word spread, customers began lining up:

With greater sales success came greater investments in cutting edge tuning technology placing Jeffo squarely at the forefront of the tuning world...Brock and Ivan take notice!

Today, Jeffo is the very image of the successful entrepreneur as he personally tunes a bike over the phone:

I know he did me good. The first time I talked to him he wanted to know what altitude I typically rode in and what kind of riding I did and what I was looking for. He called me a couple of times before he ever sent my map. After he sent it to me and I installed it and ran it some he called me to see how it was doing. I was very pleased with his map over any map off of DJ's site or any other map I tried and that was a few. Did I dyno it to see what kind of power it was making? nope because I"m not interested in max power, as long as it feels smooth and pulls good for my riding style I'm happy and thats what his map did for me. It had plenty of low and midrange grunt which is where I like to play when I'm in the mountains. That being said

I have an 07' 14 at 22k it spun the #3 rod bearing, I had to rebuild the motor. Now at 35k it has eaten a vavle (the valve head sheared off not bent, just snapped off). Thats not typical of these motors but it happened, many others are riding theirs with well over 50k and no issues whatsoever. It's just one of those things, just like Jeff's maps, if you do enough of them your going to get one wrong every now and then. That just tells me he is actually adjusting the maps and not selling everyone the same map. I am interested to see what the A/F ratio is and what kind of numbers are being produced. I would venture to say that the A/F ratio will be ok or maybe a little on the fat side and will probably produce HP #'s in the mid 170's with TQ around 101 to 103.
