Is that an aluminum renthal sprocket on a turbo 14?
Yes it is. Tried them all. Nothing bad to report. Keep them clean and you will not have any issues.
people just want a certain look sometimes
This is true. Bike above was purpose built. I tried to keep it low key. On the stand close up pics show all but if I road up next to you may not notice what this bike has become.
If it compromises something else, I'm sure they thought about what's most important to them.
Exactly. For me what was comprised as a stocker was the ability to use the full power of the ZX-14s fantastic motor.
So in comes the swing arm. This was Not purchased for looks. It was a must have in the eyes of safety if I wanted to use all that power the big girl had to offer. That sticky pavement at the track was a big eye opener for me. Learned lots while trying not to flip over. All part of the learning curve. More to it then that but I'm sure you know the rest.
The look of a longer swingarm isn't for me either, even if it didn't change the handling at all. But to each their own.
Kak, I know how you feel, was never for me either but now could not do with out it. Bike is much more stable now so I hit it that much harder. Keep in mind bike above is making over a hundred foot pounds of torque at 5000 RPM. Our stockers just get that at 10,000RPM. Even without boost making a hard launch is that much more predictable and stable.
Does it handle like a stocker ???? Going straight yep. Knee scraping No, definitely Not. But that was never the zx-14s strong point was anyway, so for me It just made sense. My thinking was to take this bike to where she likes to shine and compliment what this bike is good at. Planting all that power is one hell of a Rush.
So, did I ruin this bike,,,,,, to many I'm sure answer is yes. Just thought I would share a little of where I was coming from. To think it all started with slip-ons and that Back Fire lol Hook set deep, can't shake it.
Cheers.
