Love the look of the stetched out single side swing arm with the fatty tire. It's just so viking. Looks cool and is mad expensive to do right. That's what scares me, the money pit and ensuring it is done right. I would also add here I've never ridden a stretched out version of the King, so I don't even know what they ride like. Any folks on here that are anti stretch ever ride one and have thus reaffirmed that they ride like shit. I can't comment, its obvious a flat large tire kills cornering and I enjoy lean and low curves, but who's to say the ride is not just as thrilling, but in a different way.

So skinny, I can appreciate the strech, but it's just not my style, plus I've never ridden a stretched 14.

Peace boyz.

The pic itself really destroys the thread's thesis! There is not one single post that can convince me that Romans' 14 isn't a head turning delight to ride!

I guess I certainly fall into the category of "ruining" a great motorcycle. I posted a pic of my 09 Monster Edition 14 on another forum and had someone said it looked like a hillclimber and even posted a pic of a hillclimb bike with the rear wheel several feet behind the rest of the motorcycle.

I really liked this one. Can't Help but think what it would be like to have a ZX-14 based hill climber built. hmmmm, I'll take second trip up but not the first. Any takers ? Wicked for sure.

Thanks guys. Not what I expected to here in this thread. No one has piped(yet)in with, "see it's Fugly". I did try to keep it taste full and down play anything that might attract to much attention.

For me the bikes main purpose is to have Fun On. IMO, No matter what gets done to any bike it's the rider that needs to love it. If he or she is having fun All Good. My buddies Hard-ly Davidson has that crazy open drive belt trying to Eat His pant leg every time he rides it. To me that = Never, but I get it. Fun to watch white letters on belt go around lol

The Sargent world sport performance single seat comes with it. Seat has a ridge to keep your tale bone planted under hard launch, Love it. 5 star for sure.

Romans,
Can we get a straight on side shot pic? And a straight on from the rear pic? Trying to get an idea of where your rear wheel is sitting visually compared to stock. How far over is it and what size tire is on the back?
Thanks in advance!

Romans, my boy Beast said he thinks you got a Turbo on it. If this is true, I now have even greater aspirations of test piloting her!!!

Thanks Romans that 1st pic was just what I was after. The slick tire fooled me from a distance, looked like a 240. How much is it extended? And what brand swing arm is it?

Bjames, people just want a certain look sometimes. If it compromises something else, I'm sure they thought about what's most important to them. The look of a longer swingarm isn't for me either, even if it didn't change the handling at all. But to each their own.

Though I forgot to add, the pride of taking something and putting your own touches and enhancements is in itself a great reward. Oh, Romans, your garage looks like mine. It's the cleanest room in my house, lol! Love a bike lift you can eat off.
Peace

Yes it is. Tried them all. Nothing bad to report. Keep them clean and you will not have any issues.

people just want a certain look sometimes

This is true. Bike above was purpose built. I tried to keep it low key. On the stand close up pics show all but if I road up next to you may not notice what this bike has become.

If it compromises something else, I'm sure they thought about what's most important to them.

Exactly. For me what was comprised as a stocker was the ability to use the full power of the ZX-14s fantastic motor.

So in comes the swing arm. This was Not purchased for looks. It was a must have in the eyes of safety if I wanted to use all that power the big girl had to offer. That sticky pavement at the track was a big eye opener for me. Learned lots while trying not to flip over. All part of the learning curve. More to it then that but I'm sure you know the rest.

The look of a longer swingarm isn't for me either, even if it didn't change the handling at all. But to each their own.

Kak, I know how you feel, was never for me either but now could not do with out it. Bike is much more stable now so I hit it that much harder. Keep in mind bike above is making over a hundred foot pounds of torque at 5000 RPM. Our stockers just get that at 10,000RPM. Even without boost making a hard launch is that much more predictable and stable.

Does it handle like a stocker ???? Going straight yep. Knee scraping No, definitely Not. But that was never the zx-14s strong point was anyway, so for me It just made sense. My thinking was to take this bike to where she likes to shine and compliment what this bike is good at. Planting all that power is one hell of a Rush.

So, did I ruin this bike,,,,,, to many I'm sure answer is yes. Just thought I would share a little of where I was coming from. To think it all started with slip-ons and that Back Fire lol Hook set deep, can't shake it.

Cheers.

Found out my boy had a GSXR (beautiful bike) stretched it and put custom NITris, and could not sell the bike. Ended up selling for a great loss, as the market did not reflect interest. I must say if I had not bought Veridis, I would have bought his ride...

So Romans, when it's time to sell that gem, let us on the forum have first stab!!!!

Peace
