bankheadd,

Excellent choice! I noticed you filled out a map support form already; this means my staff will be sending you a proper map to match your exhaust/combination (flies in/out - pump fuel - race fuel etc.), your pipe is now automatically registered for it's warranty period and you will soon have access to our private forums to find out any little performance tips and secrets we may have for you.

Please feel free to PM me personally if you have any questions.

Just for you dragking!! I still have not installed them yet, I've been outta town in TX for my Uncle's funeral.

Thank you SIR! Although I have a set, I never get tired of looking at them. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, next time you come to TX, make sure it's in better circumstances! We got BWillie in Dallas and at least two other members with CT-duals or single in that area, and we were trying to plan a get together. Hopefully next time you come we can do that, it would be nice to see 5-6 14's together with CT's.
*You must be special, you even got Brock, the man himself supervising with the install and map support!!! Neat!

Hey Brock, where is my commission? I must have helped with at least 3 CT-Duals sale on this forum alone. LOL

I got 178 hp-100tq with an 06, CT-Duals and your map. I'm looking into getting a flash but $375 is a little steep for a speed limiter removal and moving the redline to 11K! On the generation 2 and later ZX-10 it's totally worth it since they need a lot of advance timing to wake up etc... You got any discount going on for gen 1 owners?

Also, I wanna do a couple of speed events. Could you give me some info on what I should be looking at with the reflash, race gas and OW oil. Steve sent me a link to a map for an 06 with similar mods plus 0 W oil and reflash made 189hp. That bike had also velocity stacks and you don't sell them so I was wondering why you used for that specific pull and graph. Feel free to PM if the info is classified but I'm sure a lot of guys here would like to know as well.

My pleasure bankheadd

Hello dragking,

If you have our pipe, you gain access to our private info. area through our map support form - but I believe most of the info. you are interested in would be located in our ZX-14 diaries. They are in on featured articles area of our site: Scroll down to ZX-14 Diary Part 1 - 3

We also have an FAQ on the early re-flash that you might find helpful: Gen 1 ZX-14 FAQ

Let me know if you still have questions after you check these out. The info. is all still valid, you just have a newer (faster) exhaust

Good info. 8-10hp advantage with the flash is pretty awesome. I will check the private info stuff and ask my V Stacks question in your forum but just reading the ZX-14 diary one more time, clarified a lot.

dragking,

I did not use the short stacks on our Gen 1 14, but we recently used them on a 14R project bike. Please understand that stacks will never make power, they will only move power. On the 14R the power was moved up closer to the rev limiter, which is where our land speed racer wanted it to be. The bike ended up going 212 MPH at Loring a little later - she was very happy with the results.

I heard the same from Johnny Cheese! The map graph I got from your people was probably from a customer gen 1 ZX-14 but for sure V Stacks were listed in the mods. Well Brock, I've made fun of you at times (all in good fun of course ) but one thing that is unquestionable about you is your products and customer support. Thanks for taking the time.

Side note: I was riding back from work today, the air was quite dense and snapping the throttle from 3500 RPM I got the front wheel in the air... you've gotta love it LOL

Hey Brock, icons are kidded with like dking said. I've got a question. So this 212 mph run. Is this still a closed top cover, never checked the lash or found the lash within spec, no cam timing tweak, no port cleaning after the factory port job kind of kept it bone stock and piggy/flasheda rest is history?

dragking,

Hmmm - could be from one of our customers I guess, or maybe from a local builder/tuner who rents our dyno? Hell, maybe I just forgot?! I have many thousands of runs floating around in my head ;) Please e-mail the chart to me if you get a chance: bmail@brocksperformance.com

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I checked my e-mail and I don't have it, I don't even remember if I was sent a link or a copy of the actual graph. I remember asking about wanting to see something without the V Stacks and I was told the only gen 1 graph you guys had with a reflash was with V Stacks. If you now do have more, I would love to check them out.

I'm thinking of pulling the alien head 2 off and putting the cT duals on. Any chance you weighed the total system before putting it on. would love to know how much (if any) heavier the ct duals are than my alien head.

Hey toledoUPSguy I haven't installed them yet so when I get a chance I'll try and weighed them.

That will be great, thanks. if not too much trouble make sure all the hardware is included in that weight.

Man I'am trying to get an accurate WT for you I assembled the exhaust and placed it on my bathroom digital scale but I could not really get a good reading on it without proping up one side of the exhaust to get it to read on the scale. I did get 8.9lbs and that's with the hardeware still in the packing. I don't think that weight is legit because I had to prop-up the exhaust canister. But I'm willing to bet it's probably less then 12lbs.

Toledo here's a pic of the exhaust on my scale with the package of hardware it reads 8.8lbs. When I get ready to install it I'll find my spring scale.

Thank you, appreciate the effort. Brock are you still monitoring this thread, are those duals really lighter than my AH2? I'm thinking of going back to SWB and running LSR. A horse or two more is always nice plus I'd like to put the lower fairing back on which looks terrible with a single pipe.
Guess its not really lighter when adding the weight of the footpeg brackets back in

RE: Looking for New Exhaust

Both system weights according to our UPS-certified scales:

Alien Head 2
Muffler: 3.10 lb
Front Section: 5.45 lb
Flanges: 1.05 lb
Total Weight: 9.6 lb

CT Dual
Right Muffler: 3.10 lb
Left Muffler: 3.10 lb
Primaries: 2.75 lb
Collector: .80 lb
Mid Pipes: 2 lb
Parts Kit: 1.25 lb
Total Weight: 13.0 lb

Of course, the Alien Head 2 would be more aerodynamic (for LSR use) - while the CT duals certainly give a more 'balanced' look. The exhaust world is full of trade offs. That being said, we just had a LSR customer in the UK run 203 MPH with our CT Duals, and he even had our QuietKore mufflers.

FYI: Removal of the lower fairings/belly pan is not required for use with any of our exhaust systems.

I hope this helps,

Brock

Thanks Brock, appreciate your response. Didn't mean to imply i had to remove the belly pan fairing due to the ah2, it was because of the 12" underbraced alumi-pro.

Looks great. Double barreled shotgun, baby!

The entire bike looks great, and with those pipes.............even better.
I know, first hand, how amazing these pipes sound, too.

Great choice. Enjoy having the feeling of thunder within your hand.
