I know there has been a lot of backlash towards ECU flashes lately and I hope this helps clear some of the air
Getting straight to the point my bike is a 2012 zx14r mods include - full alien head 2, PC-V, BMC race filter, C-blast flash. BRAND NEW FILTER, BRAND NEW PLUGS
I got the bike dyno'd at Washington Cycle Works in N.J. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I told the tuners my mod's and my expectations (hoping to make 200 at the wheel). When I told him the bike was flashed he kind of smirked as if he had dealt with flashed bikes before, which he has, and wasn't a (pro flash) tuner you could tell. He said he has seen bad flashes, and good flashes, flashes that do nothing, and then he came across a C-Blast flash.
First dyno pull 197.**
Second dyno pull 198.**
Last dyno pull 199.6 114 tq
Wasn't quite what I wanted but hey, close enough.
More importantly after the VERY FIRST PULL the tuners looked at each other, smiled, then gave me a thumb's up. "Our work here is done," they said. I said "I'm so close to 200! we gotta keep trying." They replied, "we'll keep trying for your 200, but tuning wise there's nothing we can do to the bike. The tune on this bike is perfect, it's what we as tuners strive for. It would be robbery for us to change any parameters on a already perfectly smooth tune and charge you for it. Call your tuner and thank him."
Enough said.
P.S.
Washington Cycle Works were great guys. After about 5 pulls the bike constantly put down around 198 with a highest of 199.6. They were holding up fans, even tried firing up an old leaf blower to jam into the ram air to get that extra .4 HP. They love what they do and it shows in their customer relations and quality of work. The owner even invited me back for a free dyno in October when it's a little cooler to squeeze out that extra bit of HP as is it was mid 70's when I dyno'd AT sea level. The cooler air plus ceramic wheel bearings I ordered should do the trick to put me comfortably over 200.
