RE: Shorai Lithium battery installed finally

Good for a lot of years but my Shorai installed in 2011 won't hold a charge ample to start the bike for much more than a week without running the motor. It was kept on a Shorai maintainer over winter storage every year and has provided four good years of service. It's still going, just don't let the bike sit more than a week.

Yes, Zxpredator. My brand new Shorai sat in the box for two months before I put it in. When I put the Shorai in, the bike started right up. It was good for a few years but then I started noticing the bike started poorly after sitting a while without being on the Shorai maintainer. I'm expecting it will get worse or maybe die completely before long. The Shorai I'm using is a smaller battery than recommended by Shorai but the specs are the same as the OEM batttery. No complaints, ten years is good enough for me. I'd buy another Shorai if this one ever gives up the ghost.

Awesome! Mine lasted at least 8 years before my recent crash and I'm sure it would have gone a few years more. The only thing was that it wasn't holding a charge long the last 5 years. Try to be careful and not over dischareg the battery. I think that's what causes it to not hold a charge. I'd go with Shorai again. I was all set to buy a new one just like the one i have.
