Well, big update for me.
1st. I went on my longest trip so far this weekend, out into the countryside. The local Honda dealer hosted a fun ride to a local state park, and with a turnout of about 75 bikes, it was great.
2nd, This morning, I had my first service on the 14. Admittedly, a hair late (725 mi.) No adjustments necessary, besides one loose bolt and one missing on my front fairing, causing a pretty bad rattle. Even the chain was fine.
Before this bike, my previous experience has been mostly with cruisers and motocross style bikes. I have wanted a big sportbike (busa) since I was 18, but never could convince myself to buy one, because I had never ridden one. I didn't know if I'd love or hate it. I went to demo day, and after the first ride, I was sold on a sportbike. It took a week of waffling between the busa and 14, but I chose the 14 for the looks and the added safety of the TC (lot of wet weather here).
So far, I now have about 825 miles on the bike. I love how smooth this thing rides. The power is more than I'll ever need, but it's docile enough to just hop right on and ride. Most of my mileage so far has been with traction control on 3, just to get me comfortable with the power in wet weather first. The handling blows away everything else I've ever ridden. Obviously, the ergos took a bit to get used to, but that was expected (and not nearly as bad as I thought). Brakes are awesome, enough said there.
