Clutch Forks
04/29/12 9:20 AM

Ok guys having an issue with the bike. It won't shift into 2nd all the time and if it does I can tell if its gonna jump out of gear cause my gear indicator will be blank. I know someone here mentioned the shift fork may be bent, So what I'm i looking at to inspect and replace if necessary or is this a dealer job

Hub yea it was pretty much every time going into 2nd. Good news is it was an easy fix, I started thinking it didn't start happening till after I put the pingel shifter on so I disconnected the rod going to the shifter and took her out she shifts just fine now lol (a big sigh of relief on my part)so now I'm working on the pingle shifter first I take the bracket off because I had it powder coated and sand the powder coating out of the hole that the shifter goes thru because its really tight and its supposed to swivel freely i put it back together and dammit now it won't even go into 2nd gear, so back to the garage and I'm just gonna make 1 change at a time till i get it right lol first change is ...there is a dark line on the pingle rod(that connects to the shifter)the line is supposed to be even with the cylinder which it was so i loosen the cylinder and raise it an 1/8" so now there is an 1/8" between the cylinder and the line on the rod take her out again and she shifts flawlessly now. (again a sigh of relief)
