MRA Racing Screen
09/13/13 2:02 PM

I just installed my MRA racing screen (double bubble) and I could not be happier. It smooths out the air nicely and provides the perfect amount of tuck space and looks great. I'm about 6'1 or so and have a 32" inseam. So if you're similar shaped you should have similar results.

Alright...yeah...that is a good screen. The MRA 'spoilerscreen' is another well designed bit.Very good at helping keep the bike planted at speed...in the curves. And the straights;)

How's the noise behind the screen? My zg db is terrible. I have the MRA touring screen. Those two holes work wonders. I'm guessing it should be the same for the racing. I was looking at getting the racing for next season.

Well...kinda depends where yer helmet is at.I wear earplugs...it's quite mellow.I'd say....pretty quiet. There is minimal buffeting with the spoilerscreen. It does not have the two cutouts. The new ones might,IDK.

Here are some shots of the screen:

The only knock on the screen is the rubber lip that is included is clear instead of black like my last one. I wish it was solid black because I think it would look better but that's a minor quibble. Otherwise this is a stellar screen for a daily rider.

Alright yeah. I need one of those.

I get quite a bit of wind buffeting on my commute. 75mph speed limit, lots of trucks and stuff around. I think a DB would do the trick.

I still get the wind but now it's smoothed out, no buffeting really. The screen also works good for a partial tuck and and full tuck without compromising your vision. Btw, my results are when wearing a shoei x11.

I had an MRA spoiler screen for a while, but it didn't seem any different than the Puig Double Bubble it replaced. I never rode with it in the rain, but I wondered if the pressure-relief cutouts would leak. Any experience with an MRA in the rain?

I hit some rain a few times and didn't notice anything coming through. No downpours though. I had a puig db on my 09 '14 and this MRA seems like it provides a much better air pocket.

The only knock on the screen is the rubber lip that is included is clear instead of black like my last one. I wish it was solid black because I think it would look better but that's a minor quibble.

Ditch the lip. Grab a file and file it flat. File a radius on the edges. Grab a block and 200-2k sandpaper and go to down. Finish up with the buffer. The picture is shitty, but the edge is shiny and see through.

The touring holes relieve the pressure in the pocket, turbulence behind my head is kept at a minimum with the MRA vs the ZG DB (100+).

I know this is an old post but there are probably others with the same question: I am getting a MRA windscreen since I like the quality and have had them on past bikes, most recently on the Blackbird. I have narrowed it down to the Racing or Touring: anyone have first hand experience with either or more importantly, compared to each other? I am 6"2" and the ZG Double Bubble I have now has to go! I prefer the best protection when sitting halfway up or so up since I can tuck and be comfortable with most screens.

Thanks. I spent a couple hours searching the Internet for ideas, recommendations, etc. and could not find anything that helps me decide so I hope that someone who has tried some can give me some useful information.

Anyone know what kind of windscreen this bike has? It is not mine but I found it while searching. The pic tells me nothing about how it defects wind but it looks like it might work well.

I believe the most deflection AND easiest to tuck behind is the Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen...but it is tall, not really 'sport' looking, and just a touch on the dorky looking side. But for touring and wind/rain deflection, can't be beat IMHO.

This is my old 14, but shows the 'dorkiness' of the ZG sport touring ws.

When I purchased my 14R one year ago I immediately purchased a ZG double bubble and went back and forth between it and the stock windscreen. The wind coverage at full tuck with the ZG DB is phenomenal but I wasn't too fond of the way it looked plus the turbulence out of tuck was unpleasant. On all my other bikes in the past I've always went with Puig so I decided to give it a try and afterwards I regretted buying it because the wind protection for my 6'1" height was nonexistent.

So after more research I gathered that my next shot at trying to find the near perfect windscreen for me(Form and Function) would be to buy a MRA Racing windscreen. Let me tell you...I wish I would've went with the MRA from the get go because it would've saved me the money spent on the Puig/ZG windscreens. The wind protection at full tuck is on par with the ZG DB, but at 3/4 tuck it shines better than the other windscreens. To boot I like the higher bubbled profile along with the windscreen rubber spoiler.

I'm so impressed with the MRA windscreen that I'm seriously considering purchasing one for my other bike which is equipped with a Puig R Racer windscreen.
