I noticed a tick sound...like if you took a penny and tap it on a window one time light like...when the bikes at idle and I rev it to about 1500rpm and let off? a distinct tick.not a rattle or tap...clear but not real loud,nor where youve gotta train the ear???

Anybody else know what or where this is from???cam chain slap?? Ive never had the bike on the rear wheel any amound of time.NO redlines yet...changed the oil about 300miles ago.no hard runs.top speed 120 on the way to work a few times.10300 miles now. any Ideas???

I have the same sound. Sounds like the brake micro switch. I had my bike all apart looking for the tick then a fellow member told me it was part of the pollution equipment and not to worry. Maybe the guys will post a better description of what is really going on with the tick. But I can tell you for sure, the sound is under the tank on top of the motor so do not look in the dash area. This should save you 5hrs or so.
