Reevu Helmets
01/13/12 9:09 PM

Debated long and hard with myself to get either the tried and true Shoei RF-1100 or the revolutionary Reevue helmet with rear view technology.
Loved the graphics of the Shoei but then, Reevu came out with a graphics version of there own and it was a deal breaker for me.
If you haven't seen or heard of them before, here are some pic's of mine.[img][/img]

I haven't tried it out yet (winter here), but if it only shows ONE cop sneaking up on me, that will go a long way at paying for it.

*Webbikeworld did a review of them a while back, here's the review:Your text to link here...

I'll do a review of it as soon as I can ride, as it is, there's a foot of snow on the ground here and -24c (-34c windshield) this morning.

This I can say,
The helmet does feel comfortable, it's a little heavy at 4lbs, that's 3 oz more than the Shoei RF1100.
Once I start putting on the communication gear and contour camera, it should be even heavier.

At first I felt the rear display was to small and to high inside the helmet, but after adjusting it (you can lower it with a provided adjusting tool) and tilting it a bit, now it's pretty good and I can see a lot more what's going on in the back of it.
But I'll have to fine tune this once on the bike and actually riding.

Not much I can add at this point, maybe price?
479.99$ retail got it at the Toronto Supershow for 418$, the solid colors retail for 399$ and saw them a few places for 339$ and one guy had them as low as 279$!

More to come....

I purchased one this past week and after getting it all setup it took me about 2 days to adjust to it. Since I ride with no mirrors I find this helmet very beneficial, although I always head check before changing lanes when I rode totally mirrorless. Now being able to see directly behind me at any time has added another level of awareness.
