I know Rook uses the auto tuner, I'm looking at any value of having one of these to go along with new exhaust and PCV?

I've USED it.

It sure did seem to fix up the bottom end of the map I run. After that, too complex for me to screw with right now. I have other stuff.

Romans has a whole thread on here somewhere that explains the proper way to use AT. His opinion (which I would take as gospel) is that AT is useless unless you go WOT at high rpm and that you have an AFR gauge. Many street riders can't do that safely enough to gather accurate fuel trims.

I would PM Romans or maybe he will chime in here. We should have his info stickied somwhere. If there was a How-too I would post it on my list in How-Tos.....I'd do the tutorial myself but as mentioned I already have so many other mods and bike stuff with tutorials started and not finished. Self tuning is in my future.

Before you even think about self tuning, you WILL need a map or a professional tune to start you off. Nobody starts from a 0 map. Would take for ever and is too much illegal activity for one man's driving history to withstand.

Here is what I would do bankhead: Get a sensor bung welded into your pipe FIND THE OPTIMUM POSITION TO LOCATE THE BUNG!!! (ask me or better, Romans....closest to the headers as possible where all 4 cylinders collect exhaust---position on top of pipe as much as possible---) The bung seals with a threaded plug. Plan out where you might position an Autotune module. It must be close to the PC5 so it can CAN cable up to it. If you decide you have tuning needs, you get the Autotune and start learning. You may also need an AFR gauge. I have not tried, but the Dynojet LCD has a digital AFR guage or you can buy some other one.
