The Gilles axle nut has got to be a huge difference compared to stock. The Probolt Ti version is still 50 grams. Stock has to be about 90 grams.

Yeah, but if the OEM is 90 grams, eve if you took the entire nut OFF without a replacement you'd still only be taking off 1/5 of a pound! (One pound = 454 grams)

Not a big difference overall, but considering that the new nut eliminates the cotter pin, allows the axle to be cut back, and simplifies maintenance its a pretty cool mod.

I was looking all over for those safety clips - even as a fokkernadel lol. Finally found them here: https://www.kurveygirl.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=841 . That's the size I just ordered - and their stainless steel as well! It's not spam - when you see the site you'll laugh. Female racer also selling stuff - motorcycles not porn - she says lol.

Nice Ti hardware there too - I ordered a Ti drain bolt pre drilled for safety wire and it has both a hex outside as well as a star inside socket.

I bought Dzus fasteners and a few other items from them. Good girls.

Here's how I did it with those clips from above. The throat was too wide where the clip would rattle around. So I cut off the hook and then bent a new hook so that I can clip it and then push it over the nut and it sits nice and tight - no rattles. Safety wire isn't as close as it looks in the pic - there's no way it'll touch the sensor wire.

That's a neat solution, Steve! I like it a lot.
