lotsa QUESTIONS.....
06/09/09 9:33 PM

WHATS UP,
Im new to the ZXs,and my first zx was an 11.I couldnt get use to the engine noises, tranny noises during shifts, the noises Id figured would be long gone after the KZs and Z1Rs....Anyhow I ended up selling my 11...and crossed paths with
a good deal on a 14 for $5k with 9k on the clock.

Granted Im learning to accept the audio on the shifts, and the upper end noises that are totally normal ,Im told.but what I want to know about is the Injectors in our engines and the ethonal in the gas that Im forced to buy here in the mid west.Im here in kansas city. I know that it gave me problems in my cars(had 2 1991 infiniti Q45s)I had to use ISO HEATto keep the condensations out of the tank and injectors. is this something to think about in our bikes???? I run premium but hesitate to put any type of treatments into the gas? whats safe to use and NOT SAFE!!!

Ive read trough the threads about the diffrent oils. wanted to know if the rumor that once you go sythetic, you cannot change back or face consequences of serious sludging???whats the best economical oil with the best protection.I may be wrong ( theres a specialty shop here in k.c. thats getting 25$ for a quart!!!!!) When I think some of the oils out there arent all they claim to be,for what they claims theyre value. Im due to change the oil in my bike here soon and wonder why I didnt think to ask the previuos owner what oil was in the bike??? anyhow theres alotta questions, thought Id throw a few out there...

Welcome! I use 10/40W Kawachem full synthetic. One gallon, plus new filter install.Shifting=correct RPM=smooth(er).1st gear clunk-lower idle rpm to 950.Worked for me.Once in a while,I add Techron to my fuel-couple of times back to back.I imagine you could put some "heet" in there occasionally if you're worried about water.Probably be safe.

greetings Hub,
YES Im well aware of this hole...Determining if its an entrance or exit is my Question.....THERES NOT A COMPLAINT.
explaining not complaining that the ear is untrained.the bikes running like a top, there was problems with shifting forks
in a land far, far, away.A Z1R with alot of top end mods, and none on the bottom end.Started getting noises from her and as stated...my ears untrained.memories of the broken forks come to mind.

the Issues with the Q45 was an injector failure due to the Quality of gas we're supplied now.Im a member of another forum for Infiniti car owners across the country and theres a type of injector that fails now because of ethonal...DAMN THE BUTTER...the older Qs were the ones.So though I thought the boys at KAWASAKI would of worked that out,but I asked. One question I didnt ask, that you reminded me was ...IF Riding in a down-pour (RAIN) could force water into the air intake.

Ive got some slight seepage on the ole top cover...lil oil residue...but no worries as yet.The oil issues Im not to concearned with.Dropped my idle down to 900-1000k and the first gear from nutral shift smoothed out.was at about 1200Rs
thanks for the replies

Thats another question,Warranty....AM I OUT OF WARRANTY???? Call the dealer and find out huh???? Have to check that out.
Anybody know what vin#s were effected by the swing arm recalls??? While Im on the phone with the dealer, might as well huh!
Had a local shop check it out(the seepage)and thats all it is as of now but they explained KAWASAKIS views on warranty replacement of the cam cover gaskets.Has to be a leak!!!anyhow theres no worries there, when the 15k service is done Ill have the gasket redone with the newer gasket replacement I seen in another thread.

NO MORE DIAPER CHANGES FOR ME HERE...My 14 rides like a caddy, compared to my 97 11...Theres no reason for MODS to me with this one here. Its all about the fun now.I hit 110 at least twice a week on the way to work. hwy 670 has a strait away thats safe and sound...That makes up for the COFFEE I dont sip on all the way to work!

THANKS for the 411 hub...hAVE A GOOD ONE!

You can check to see if your bike was inspected for frame recall issues by looking at the STAMPED number on the steering stem casting(on the right hand side).Right there on the frame.Just a little one, maybe two marks. You'll see it if it's there.(I'm GUESSING that all inspecting DEALERS are using the same identifiying procedure in this)but maybe not. They DID put punch marks on mine. And used RED MARKER on the bolts after retorqueing.Hope that helps ya-Ride safe-Have a BLAST there. And welcome.(That was a year ago,and the red marks are still lined up with each other).
