Joe Rocket Mesh jacket
05/05/11 12:54 PM

I order a new mesh Joe Rocket jacket. It's the Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Jacket. Here is a link, Joe Rocket.

So far I have worn it the past 4 days riding to/from work. In the mornings it's been around 50* or so, a little bit too cold for this jacket with the liner in. Since the jacket and liner is 100% polyester, it soaks up the morning cold air pretty good so I froze my a$$ off on the way to work. Good thing it's only a 25 minute ride. I have been able to manage it thou.

Now, on the way home from work, it's been in the mid 80's*. WOW! What a great jacket for warm weather riding. The mesh jacket allows the air to cool you down. It's almost like not wearing a jacket at all. So far I really like this jacket. I know that the weather is going to get better out here in the Mojave desert for my morning ride so I'm not at all concerned with the morning chill. Soon it will be 70* to 80* in the morning and over 100* on the way home. I'm looking forward to seeing what this jacket will be like in 100* temps.

I've had one since 2002 and always loved it for warm weather riding. It's the older version so it has no liner. Here's a little trick I have used, wear a longsleeve sweatshirt underneath the jacket/liner in the morning when it's chilly. It helps me on those frosty cowhampshire mornings we have here.

Yea, I got this jacket when I bought my 14 a couple of months ago and I love it. When its a little chilly outside I just put on a sweatshirt under it. It is a very cool jacket even in hot weather. I've even worn an old leather jacket under it when it was a little more cold and it worked just fine.

Over all, nice mesh jacket. Now I need to get myself a full leather jacket and a suit for the track.

I have the same jacket, and don't wear it anymore because it offers no shoulder protection at all being mesh in the shoulders. Went to an Icon Overlord leather, just about as cool and much safer to me.
