Hmmm...okay...I'm Nothing new there.BUT....what the heck are you talkin about Romes?I thought the thread was about front tires wearing oddly!Okay...clue me in if ya will...WOT are we talkin about?

And how the hell ya gonna get a bent pin? There aint no pressure on those bad boys!!!!!!They're just....there.Aint yer calipers.Nor yer pads.R O T O R.(assuming yer tire's okay).Ditch the bad rotor(s) Rome.(yer other one's likely ta follow PRETTY DERN SOON!)

I have ta say...I followed everyone's advice here about "beddin in" my new rotors...especially Hub's.NO BED IN...just regular braking, beginning with light front breaking first several hundred miles. These EBC's are SWEET!!!!!(and pads).

Dogo's keerect...brakes won't cause a 40,50mph wiggle(wobble)weeble.Waggle?.Ah shi^...I just got tired of tryin to make my stockers work!!!!!New baby....

Yup, it was, but the prob ended up being a bad rotor. Then I lost my mind. Hot button. Sorry my bad. Going to my room now

I'm just thinking that Bruiserman and I are in the same boat. Ya, My BT 14s were bad also and they now hang on my wall of shame. But soon there will be no room left. Wall will be full of rotors.

Repeat after me..."I will ditch my "specialty" rotors

Wish it was that simple. If it was I would have brand new Galfers on today.

there's ALWAYS a bright side

No bright side in this story until I find out what is causing these rotors to bend. Clearly there is something wrong. First set of stock rotors my fault, second set of stock rotors still a mystery. Now 3rd set of after market, WTF . If I just go out and buy new rotors this sad story will continue. Like I was saying, my hot button.

Bruiserman believes he was not hard on his rotors and bike not that old.

I believe I was not that hard on my second set, now 3rd and they are new.

Problem may raise it's ugly head again.

I welcome fresh eyes and all opinions.

I got a brand new set of EBC's...they so far are doing great.Think I paid something like 230 each...they may even throw in a set of their HH sintered pads(matches the rotor model). Not sure about the free pads...but they were when I got mine.I would say your calipers are just fine.Either pad contacting the rotor(upper or lower)...as long as it's grabbing flat, then there shouldn't be any weird rotor damage I would think.Your third set are what brand?

Did you look on the pad surface and see if it was wearing maybe "off" level? And your rotor(s)...any strange looking wear marks on those? What color are your rotors?

With this set...I've made it a point to NOT try to act like the racer guys you see in the vids. You know...come in hot, grab the front brakes...you see it all the time, they'll dip as the brakes are grabbing. The 14 is WAY heavier than those GP machines.Lots of momentum going on with ours.It seems like as good as our 14 brakes are...the rotors are not totally designed for high speed, hard applications using the front exclusively. My stock rotors didn't start acting up until I practiced hard stopping front only deals. It wasn't long after that they really went to shi*.Great brakes on our 14's...but I think there may be a weak link in the rotor material?

Have you tried loosening everything up (to just snug), rolling the bike forward and slamming the brakes (3 times)?
Gets sh*t lined up. Just another thought.
I know the Tokico calipers from '08-'10 zx10r's are a direct swap and can be picked up fairly cheap on ebay... another thought.
Or, maybe it's just that the rotors are too thin... I can't think of any other bikes that come with 4.5mm mn th rotors from the factory.

Here is what Wee brain has been thinking the possible causes are

1. Caliper holes are not bored true top versus bottom ? Remove caliper ~ Sight down the pads. Are the pads equal as in face has the same height as the other side of the pad? If not, then that pad would wear at a cocked angle; like a forward slash[ /l ]on your steel pad

2. Shock Tube not tapped true, top hole versus bottom ? The pad would stick out where you could see the edge of the pad not wearing down.

3. both mounting surfaces not decked true. Again, play the X to Y as if the pad is farther toward the axle or the pad is closer to the engine and off the disc area.

4. Caliper has a seized piston or sticking. checked, all good. check

5. Rotors bent when new. Floating disk hard to get perfect.. PDI and crate bike say you have a warranty problem, but before it hits the box, it's QC'd. Can't blame the dealer if you going on your 3rd set of discs.

6. Driving like a idiot. Ya, ok. What about "The Worlds Best Super Bike Brakes" I've never felt a GP brake lever with carbon brake discs, but if we are talking "Production Compliant?" I'm not using my rear brake and I'll match your driving idiocy. I'm impressed for what they are.

7. One side only,,,, hmmmmmm.Only your mm wrench knows for sure

8. = Brain cramp. I get asscramp being anal retentive

9. To gentle a bed in process, to hard a bed in process? Listen to blue or Privateer. One took a test, the other knew there are no tricks to breaking in pad. You drive out the dealer driveway, it's traffic/traffic/sloworking in the pads. Then there are race pads that work right out of the gate and both just brake no squeak WOT so ever.

10. Leave it the fuck alone a just live with it. Maybe you, but I'm not about to take a plane up, pressureyes it and know the weather report with window shades drawn.

Guess which one is winning? You being on the net ranting about it? Can I have another guess?

If things are not perfect it eats away at me. I've tried to turn a blind eye to this but when no one is looking I rip into it and look again. It's a simple mechanical device how can this elude me ?

Smoking Gun I have still have not found. Fly me up there. I'll figure it out 200feet down the driveway or less.

11. Steal the rotors, calipers, pads of wife's bike and see if prob follows. If it does I will have 4 bent sets and a nervous brake down. No. You ride the wife's bike, warp her rotors. See how that pans out first. LOL

12. Say Fuck It And Buy New Bike 2012.,,,,,,,,,, If The Same Brakes On New 14 Yeah, and if you don't grab that bike, I'll be right behind you for ithen.

Yup. Checked with micrometer. All four sets. Nothing unusual found.

You know...come in hot, grab the front brakes...you see it all the time, they'll dip as the brakes are grab

Stoppies killed my first set of rotors. Lots of fun, at a cost.

Have you tried loosening everything up (to just snug), rolling the bike forward and slamming the brakes (3 times)?

Yup, also tried leaving caliper bolts lose and placing a tie wrap on brake lever then torquing bolts to insure calipers center themselves because there is some slop. I know, I know, grasping at straws.

Guess which one is winning? You being on the net ranting about it? Can I have another guess?

"Like a splinter in your mind"

8. = Brain cramp. I get asscramp being anal retentive

I wish your ass and my brain cramp could work this one out, lol Pints on me.

Smoking Gun I have still have not found. Fly me up there. I'll figure it out 200feet down the driveway or less.

If it was economically feasible I would have a team of 19 year old Korean Girls meet you at the Air Port wearing nothing but Blow Jobs.

Bruiserman early in this thread reported bent rotor on his right side. That's when this splinter really dug in. Right side, Right Right Side Right Side. I think my alarm clock went off today screaming right side. I need Help.

Thanks for listening to my BS

Rick

Over here, ladies!

See how much is left out you pull thatoothpickey fob up and now you complain you drag the bike to a stop with hot, sweat&sour sausage age is? NO cooling off but stop and not continue the cooling process? I was thinking you might have some locals around instead. I remember a, and I don't wanna say too much, but I had a canadian once. She tasted like someone wrote their name in the snow and she had a hint of rubber smell down there.

Maybe she had her catch tank on or wasn't wearing a 'cup' that day? Maybe caught a 'puck' up there instead...... I don't know?

Now that I think about it.
