Hubster this is not the 14, brakes work great on that machine, my '15 Honda CBR1000RR SP with Brembo M4 calipers are experiencing a lot of front brake drag suddenly.

On the stand, I usually get maybe 1 to 1 1/2 turns with a good shove but recently more like 1/4 to 1/2 turn max and very noticeable drag when pushing the bike around the garage.

This bike has only about 6000 miles so I doubt the front calipers need overhaul already. I installed EBC HH pads maybe 3000 miles ago, not my favorite pads but they seem to work on the road OK.

I removed one caliper and it goes about 1 turn.

I followed the manual on loosening the left (free) side fork lower pinch bolts and bouncing the bike on the brakes to recenter and retorquing, didn't help, still about 1/4 to 1/2 turn with both calipers installed and obvious audible drag sounds going on.

Crud under the caliper piston seals maybe?

I'm being told it's the EBC HH pads, they glaze up and cause a lot of drag, can the pads be cleaned up, maybe sanded on a flat plate to break the glazing?

If it is glazing, the pads will drag more if you sand off the slippery glazed surface. I'd say glazing would not be caused by inferior pads. Even if the pads are glazed, that shouldn't cause dragging but dragging will cause glazed pads. One quarter turn sounds like more than just the usual brake drag that occurs while the bike sits and the brake fluid pressure causes the pistons to extend. Try riding the bike and then do the tire spin test. Operating the bike is what pushes the pads free from the surfaces of the rotors. If the dragging is the same or worse after riding the bike, I'd say there's a problem with the pistons or the brake fluid is overserviced which as you know can be a real hazard. You could try cleaning the pistons. I remember you did that in the past to good effect. Just be careful of the delicate seals the pistons fit into. I would remove the whole piston and clean it outside of the caliper instead of using the floss method you had in the past. Great idea but sounds like it could damage the seals. The pistons might spin if you floss them too which isn't going to clean them as effectively as if they're held stationary.
