Oil drip from tube??
04/13/14 2:34 PM

Started the bike after a week sitting warned up to 130ish
Took to front of house and parked it.. Came out later notice an oil spot ..
Looks to be dripping from the center short tube of the three by the kickstand..
Not sure exactly were it goes but I believe it's the crankcase vent?

Anyhow what's the deal with that??
First I've seen this and she has 550miles (still breaking in) should I be worried , take to dealer etc... ??

Blackpearl, mine does the same thing when I leave it in the sun with a full tank of gas. The gas expands and goes through the overflow tube. So if you had a full tank of gas that's probably what's going on.

looks like oil, not gas. Happened to me once or twice. Too much oil in bike I believe.

IDK if the 14r has the same drain tub setup as the gen 1 but Probably you have your crankcase overserviced with oil or you just took it for a hard run. Those things will blow oil up to the airbox where it drains out of a tube that goes down to left side by kickstand.

If it is your airbox drain tube, you should be able to follow it up to the trap area of the airbox (the sharp crook just before the airbox adjoins the frame below the front of the saddle. I would not worry about it if it is just oil draining from the airbox. Just keep an eye on it and the oil level from now on.
