bluetooth headphones

Whos got em and what brand are your using?

Right now im using your basic wired ear buds (klipsch image s4) to play music from my phone. Id like to get rid of the wire but Im not sure how any of these bluetooth units fit under a helmet.

Im looking for a good quality earbud that has above average sound quality and MOST importantly, fits under a snug helmet that does NOT add pressure to the ear. (Ill get into that under one of the products).

These are a couple of brands ive come across. These will only be used for playing music and NOT for making/receiving calls while riding. Some of these units have the volume controls and power buttons in a area that will not be accessible while riding b/c of the helmet. That is not a concern for me. Power/volume is set before riding and my phone is attached to my handle bars in a ram mount in case I need to adjust volume.

Motorola S10-HD $50

Battery life is excellent at 8 hours of play time. Longest of any headsets ive seen.

Sony Ericsson $100

This is the style I like. Just a regular earbud. One review suggested that the buds stick out to far from ear and a helmet pushes the bud into the ear causing soreness.

Jaybird Freedom $100

Even though the small square box that comes right off the earbud looks small, it appears that it will get pressed into the ear when wearing a helmet.

Jabra CLIPPER $40

small ear buds (just like my klipsch s4) that i know will fit under a helmet and not get in the way. But that volume control box that clips onto your shirt/jacket seems pretty annoying.

Plantronics BackBeat 903+ $45

not sure if behind the ear placement will be a problem with a helmet. It looks like a helmet may push the outer ear into that part of the headset

Searching the amazon reviews using the term "helmet" provides some good info. However, almost all the reviews that involve helmets for each item have some people saying they are great for helmets and others say not so great.
