Recommend a rain cover for the ZX
08/16/22 3:07 PM

Hi - Can anybody recommend a rain cover for the ZX, preferably a stretch fit / elastic surround so no straps are needed, quick on and off?

Our group is heading to the Dragon / Blue Ridge Parkway / Cherohala Skyway again next month, and most mornings we wake up to bikes covered in dew; and of course sometimes rain. Would be nice to remove the cover and have a nice, dry bike that needs no chamois-ing.

Thanks!

The only one I know of to recommend is the Geza cover. I got the light duty one. The bike sat in a downpour with the helmet on the seat. When I took the cover off in the morning, it still had water on it but the seat and helmet and everything under the cover was comletely dry. I don't even think they claim that one is supposed to be waterproof but it darned sure seems it's very water-resistant. Geeza had a blem sale every year a long time back and that was always the time to buy one. The blems I got looked perfect to me. Another great thing about the Geeza covers is that you can easily carry one on the bike in a small backpack or stuffed under your jacket. They roll up to the size of a small loaf of bread. I wish Kaw made the seat cowl with some kind of quick release mechanism. You could store a geeza under there and still have room for other stuff.

When are you gonna be at the Dragon. I'll be there 9/11-15. We stay in Maryville. I have a higher end Geza and it does a decent job for rain and no dew.

Thanks Rook

Omni - We'll be there Sept 18-21, staying in Maggie Valley. I suppose by you staying in Marysville TN you're coming from the north ... ah yeah I see your location is MN. Enjoy ... maybe we'll catch up one day.

I use Nelson-Rigg- large.
It fits w/o the side bags.

yannih,
you are a candidate for an EV Bike.

Me, I go camping sometimes.

Damn, that was a cold night (forgot my cover)
