After you register and log in, you will see a "Profile" link in the top menu.

Click this link to get to a page where you can upload your avatar image and set up your forum signature.

Note that a gray line will automatically be placed above your signature in your messages, to separate it from your message body, so you don't need to put a line in the signature itself.

Many members will put in the details of their bike and its upgrades, or a history of the bikes they've owned, or the bikes they currently own in their signature line, but it's up to you... -bg

How do you set up your avatar? I have some .gif files on photobucket and I can't seem to get them to come over. My current avatar is resident on my pc so I'm guessing that I should save the .gif file to my pc and then upload it. Might have just answered my own question there. :-)

Exactly right. It will be automatically re-sized to a width of 150px after it is uploaded if it is wider than that. -bg

Hell no. I know some forums like to say lets keep it family oriented there might be some 13 Y.O viewing. Sites like these aren't for the entire family. I was just asking in case I come across some cool avatar.

This forum is what it is. Best not to go X-rated with an avatar, as we have things set up to be "safe from work" except the N.S.F.W. section.

I don't think usernames can be changed by users. I may be able to change it directly in the database if you tell me what username you would like it changed to. -bg

Thanks for getting back bg and thanks for a great site. This ole feller is about the same age as your good self and appreciate a site with experience, knowledge etc. without the drivel of so many others. Here in the UK we have the horrible expression " born again biker" nothing to do with religion just someone who has come back after x years away from riding. Pleased to say I am not in that category having ridden since the age of 12, done speedway, road racing and motocross (kept the ambulances busy) as well as too many road bike according to the lady wife. Since mid 70's with Z1000, GPZ900R: ZX10:ZZR1100:2XZX9:ZX12 and now a 2010 Zx14 would not move from Kwak for all the tea in China. Anyway if you can change stillona12 to "Taff's201014" I would appreciate it.

It's probably the image resizing program that is being used when an avatar image is uploading. It probably removes the animation. Could you attach your animated gif to an email and send it to admin at zx14ninjaforum.com?

It looks like I'm a few years late with my issue..When I try to drag over a photo from my phone as an avatar, It keeps telling me that the file is too large. This is the same way that I always do it. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. ED
