Services for oil? You'll get a lot of different answers for that. I changed my oil and filter every 2500 miles using Rotella T6. The Gen1 service manual recommends every 7500 kilometers or once per year whichever comes first. If the shifting feels rough or you miss a shift, that means you should change the oil ASAP.

For the most part abide by the service intervals. You can readily find full PDF service manuals online. I printed mine at Kinkos and had the pages hole punched. Anything MORE is probably OK, as long as you're not polishing the paint of it (if you catch my drift).
IIRC I did my initial oil/filter change at 965 kms. Should be fine to go with full synthetic, or run dino the first oil change. Either way not going to kill your bike. Inspect the filter if you want, probably find quite a bit of shavings in it.
I do a bolt-tightening inspection at the start of every season. Over the years it's not abnormal to find a loosened fastener hear or there. If you're bike is newer, do a bolt-tightening inspection after a few hundred miles.
I usually change my oil ever 2k miles, since this is a performance machine. I think most of us tend to lean more towards the conservative side on oil changes. Oils cheap, engines are expensive.
Lube chain every 640 kms, I myself use 80-90w and a process which I don't get a lot of dripping and have gotten great chain life.
12k km replace spark plugs (do this...)
24k km valve clearance inspection
