I checked the distance tonight that I could read my license plate from and it's about 7 - 8 bike lengths, about 50 feet and that's static, not trying to control a 4000 lb vehicle at 100+ mph.

I don't wanna reminisce about my encounter with the law but for argument sake... any law enforcement greatest strength is propaganda. Look at the stupid show like 48 hours they never show you the countless time nobody snitch and they couldn't make a case! Just so you can think they're omniscient or something.
In my case, I was heading to work and running late, a light turned yellow and I went a tad under wot, what I didn't know, an LE had just started his shift and was waiting for my light to turn red so his light could turn green. Honestly I never saw the guy I was too busy getting tucked in, watching the speedo rising like an adolescent on a porn set! I was told that I that point the officer decided to give chase but because he cared about my safety, never flashed is light. I barely make the second light but the third one turns red a good 100 yards before I get there so pissed that I won't make it on time I decide to take the long way back to the house and call sick. I was in the red at work for being late but had sick days to spare! So I make that right end turn and proceed at the speed limit and that's when I see the sucker flashing is light. I stop right away and see him coming out of his car all pissed off... my license plate state the speed limit of the gentlemen agreement so he asks me "Do you have a real license plate", I smirk and tell him you're looking at him. Oh HE WAS PISSED! lol Anyways during the trial he told the judge, he never got a lock on me with his radar and couldn't see/read my license plate. He told the judge I kept disappearing. I wish I could have told the judge: Your honor the fact that he caught up is the proof that I didn't see him lol.

Most of the guys who run, "bend" their plates or put it deep in front of the rear tire so you're not going to catch them that way and like sunofabyss said the burden of proof is on the court. 90% of the time they won't come to your house, they'll just harass you. I was followed in Nebraska many times. It is the price to pay I guess.

Nope, the 14 seems to have a bottomless well of power, I was making fun of the old StarTrek series where Scotty was always trying to hotrod the warpdrive or add NOS to the dilithium crystals or whatever.

When we were kids on our dirtbikes we'd never stop for the cops, just kept going til we could hit a dirt trail and then it was adios amigo. There was no license plate so they had to physically stop you which is way hard to do when we were on 125cc motocross bikes and they were in 4000lb Crown Vics. A few cop cars actually broke in half trying to catch some the kids, Dukes of Hazard type stuff.

Funny aye Kruz got to many stories about mates & me and dirtbikes ,we used to have cops come down at Port Gawler in white overalls we called white knights they used to chase us with 125,s we all had 250 & 500,s theres Sand tracks all along the beach then scrub ha ha they never caught us lol

Wow bean, now that is some vintage dirtbikes there! I had an AJS 370 Stormer, 250 Montessa Capra VR and a string of TM-125 Suzukis followed by a Honda CR-500 when I raced over 30 class. Lot of happy memories on those bikes and cops were only rarely a problem.

I had to quit because of lower back issues, would love to have a CRF450 Honda motocrosser but I'm afraid I'd end up crippled.

mate davo had the CRF450 he hated it with to many breakdown problems & high maitenance issues but tell ya compared with the ones we used to ride these new things make the old insane IT465 feel like a turtle now
