Recently picked up a ZX-14R. Currently have a 650 Ninja with a top box. Would like to get a top box mounted to the ZX-14R. The only mounting brackets I managed to locate were on E-bay. Looking at those brackets on E-bay, they don't look like they would truly fit a ZX-14R. Is there anyone that has installed a top box on their ZX-14R? If so, what mounting hardware did you use? Thanks!

I have a rear trunk mount for a Gen 1 modified from a V Strom 650 for sale. It was modified by a very good guy. Comes with modified rear cover and all mount bolts. You have to install 2 Keenserts in the frame.
I had a GIVI trunk on it for awhile. Not sure if it fits the Gen 2
$100 plus shipping ( which can get expensive)

Thanks for the offer. I need to look at the Gen 2 to see what the difference would be if any. If I can figure out how to make it fit, this might be the way for me to go. One question, what did you mean by, "You have to install 2 Keenserts in the frame"? I have not hear of Keenserts before.

You can checkout this rack "Motorcycle Bike Trunk Seat Rear Metal Box Tail Fin Shelf Metal Luggage Rack Kit", I've been using this rack with my this Viking Okse Large Leather Wrapped Hard Motorcycle Trunk and they both did a great job and am quite satisfied with the quality of the rack.

sw motech sells a rack, I really like it. Be aware though there is some trimming with a dremmel, fiddly work to get it fitted. I also used a admore lighting kit so the taillights and turns signals are in the trunk.

I also discovered that there was another thread, "Top case only pics, no side bags?" that covered the top box question in detail. From reading that thread. it seems that I need to get a Euro Tail piece PN: 99994-0341-40R from Kawasaki that allows me to attach a top box mounting rack to the bike. Are there other sources for this part other then Kawasaki?

Is there someone that could provide pictures of the Euro Tail piece, both front and back, to help me understand how that part mounts to the bike? If possible, include a picture of all needed hardware. I believe I need to get both a rack and the Euro Tail piece to get a top box to mount on the bike.

So I am still kicking the top box idea around for my 14R. I found the frame adapter and the top box mounting bracket on Amazon from SW-Motech in a kit with all the mounting hardware.

This kit seems to have everything except the colored tail cover with the holes, I believe the part number for the tail covers with the holes is: COVER-TAIL,CNT,G.B.GREEN (Ref # 36040C) 36040-0059-40R

Is this all the parts I need besides the top box with it's mounting plate? Or am I completely out in left field?

I finally went ahead and ordered the SW-Motech Street-Rack Top Rack (Black) for 13-21 Kawasaki ZX1400ABS adapter kit from Amazon. Additionally I ordered another top tail piece from eBay. I modified the top tail piece as seen in the attached photo. I picked up a 30 Liter box also from eBay. Added a little vinyl green tape to dress up the plain box.

The kit was easy enough to install. It was nice having all the parts require in the kit. Very happy with the results. I have added a few pictures for reference.

Just a quick question, is it possible to install Harley saddlebags on zx14r.

It says it will not fit the newer models but it does it will.

You have to get the tail light cover for the rear handle kit or cut your tail light cover to install it. I just bought the rear handle kit for Kawi.

I purchased a second tail light cover and kept my original stock. Got it off of eBay for about $43. You can see in the top two photos above how I cut the piece. Some of the photos shows how the cut piece looked after installation. Does the SW-Motech street rack kit come with all the require mounting hardware? The kit from Amazon has everything to mount the top box except the base that comes with the top box. I am very happy with the access to some space to carry things on the 14X.
