Electric is a good way to describe the stock power.

Hey mate, sorry to dig up an old thread but I am looking for info on single vs dual. I bought my gen 1 zx14 nearly 18 months ago and have been commuting on it all stock. A month ago I fitted 4:1 muzzy and I find the sound quite raspy, its a bit noisey for early morning commuting and I feel like it changes your perception of the bike as said above. I feel like the silent thrust is more impressive than the noisey one. Anyway I just bought some CT dual headers from here to try them, now I need some mufflers and retune, then see how it goes. Midrange is where its at for most riding so it can only the same at worst.

:)

OLD GIRL - 2007 Black zx14, Muzzy 4:1, PCV, QS, 1" risers, 165hp so far @ 142,000km, 9.995@142........ NEW BABY - 2014 Green/Black ZX14R, Two Bros slip-ons, PCV, Dynojet QS, 1" risers, Sargent seat, Brocks clutch kit, 206 HP on dyno

You might find Brocks quiet kore cans to be acceptable. I've run both quiet and regular, and much prefer the quiet ones with my dual CT. They're louder than stock, and a little loud at city speeds, but I can just barely hear them at highway cruising speed.

I'd debated about this question before but sided with the dual because it looks like a rocket that's ready to blast off from Cape Canaveral.
