Well didn't ever think I would land here but here I am! I just picked up a 08 zx14 with 4300 miles and let me say I love this thing! My last bike was a hayabusa and i swore by that bike I loved it but let me tell you what I don't think I will ever consider buying another after riding this 14. this 08 zx14 rides like a Cadillac I love the gear indicator on it also. This bike is mainly stock except for being lowered but thats what I was looking for a stock bike. Also came with a solo cowl but I don't have the screws for it any idea what size thread they are? Anyways thanks guy and I will probably be buying another one in the near future my wife rode it and I almost had to pry her off of it she loves the ride also compared to her r1.

Sweet ride, Homecut. I think they're 6mm, but not positive. Just take your seat pan into the hardware store and match it up.
Great to have someone newer than me around to pick on.

Great year, great color. Matt black looks great on that bike if your contemplating any mods.

Welcome, nice bike.
Mine were 4mm. As Grn says same as the others. Just don't make them too long.

Many Ace Hardware stores have a HUGE inventory of bolts. The ones you want have a flattish head with a phillips X slot. Cap screws may have too tall of a head to clear the frame which lies right below the seat. Countersinks might crack the fairing (although you don't need to tighten these ones up a lot. I don't use loktite on the seat cowl screws. I DO use loktite on all other fairing screws EXCEPT the well nut screws. DON"T use Loktite with wellnuts. YOu'll never get them out.

Under the seat, there are two black painted phillips screws that hold down the triangular tail piece above the taillight. Those are identical to the ones that fasten the seat cowl. The small fairing screws with the polished heads might fit but you won't want to swap those over just to have a seat cowl.

Looks like the rubber bumpers under the seat will allow plenty of space for a screw head. I imagine almost any screw would work. Paint the heads black if they are visible.

Here is my 08 Zx14 with a few mods. I recently purchased this bike in June of this year. I bought it from a guy basically in stock form other then 12" extensions. Since then I've added a few goodies to her. Kawasaki did an amazing job with this bike. I am one proud customer. Check out the link down below
