We aren't in touch with anyone who ran or owned the old forum, unfortunately. When it went down a few months ago and then came back up, I contacted one of the moderators or administrators and told him that if he needed a new hosting site we could help with that.

I got a response from him, but that didn't go anywhere. I emailed him after the forum went down this time, and have had no response.

Sooo... We're pretty much limited to what we can find in the Google cache, I think. I'm going to try to find some of the other HOW-TO posts today and see if I can bring in at least the initial postings from those threads.

Welcome and bring your 14 questions. We are here to build a 14 tech base like any other website. Nothing has been lost as far as I am concerned. We'll get you up and running best we can. Wait, I'll take that responsibility is get you up and running with whatever your chasing down. I know enough to be dangerous.

My ride is a a 2007 "14" w/no engine mods---would like to add Akrapovic slip ons and do nothing else. What can I expect in terms of performance or lack thereof with only that change? Will the "big bang theory" haunt my laser-like downshifts on coming to a stop? Will the bike still have a decent non-lean condition so I won't fry a piston? Help! sign me "I need help!"

Match me is I am piped up with modded air cleaner. I have zip for a fuel piggy. My bike needs zero fuel trim. You should ride my bike to know it is the cat's meow smooth with all your basic mods sans the PC/Tfi/Bazzaz type de-tuners for the street say is you do not need to re-fuel for lean is there is no lean with flies removed. No engines are burning up is my mule should be dead and collecting dust is no way no how. Zat answer your question about needing to refuel something that is pre-designed in is no lean. Who told you that?

motomi1 an 07 without the secondaries installed I hope because there is a lot of power to be had of course. I have read that slip-ons do not require rejetting to be good. The bike has a rich top end anyway to protect the cats in the stock exhaust so with the small amount of extra flow of the slip-ons the difference won't hurt the engine.

I have so many tunes going with this bike, I have zip for a fuel enhancer. I do not need one. The bike runs fine with my own 4-in-1 hacked up OEM exhaust. You have a muffler, it will not let the flow out that quickly where you would need a re-map. Not even the air cleaner alone needs a map. Gotta reprogram you, Motomi, that you do not lean out the bike when the factory backs up the theory stating there is no lean once they open the subs as per coding.
Someone is assuming they are going to burn the bike down. I've beat both my 14 Gen'z semi-hard (how hard can you beat the bike on the street as opposed to a closed course is like, night and day); to know that if there was a lean spot or an over heating event about to happen, it sure did not happen on either 14, no matter what tune you set it in. Bone stock or multi-coded is that the fuel mileage is about the same. The water temp is about the same. Unless I have an exhaust sniffer and an accurate water temp readout, I can only tell you my bike still runs no matter how many times I WOT this thing up, I average at least one or two, 120/130mph blasts per ride, is get pulled over for speeding on the bike is that the odds caught up with me.

I am a retired Automotive Instructor in my second child hood. So glad you are resurrecting as much as you can the style of the old site.

I guess we are the "senior" members here. I'm 63 years young, and getting younger with every adrenaline squirt I get from riding the 14 (no joke). Mine is an 07 Blue. (That's not me in my avatar, but it's close, I think...)

Thanks so much for getting this site up and running.I was on the other site since the beginning although I didn't post alot. I had the 1st 06 14(red) in colorado.Sold it last spring and got an 08 Sapphire blue. I do a little dragging ,touring and riding both with a sportbike club and a cruiser club.I am 61 so looks like im in good company of guys who understand!!!

Riding the 14 is a real rush. I had an 04 VFR and traded for the 14 when it came out. I was very fortunate to be able to ride the Dragon in the spring of 07. Thanks for the welcome.

I thought I was older than dirt at 64 but Rich67 at 68 beat me. What the h--- is this bike just for "senior riders"? BGordon isn't exactly a "spring chicken" either, I might have to buy another bike so I can attempt to stay young. As it is I feel like a "kid" when I see the cruiser riders (read Harley) with their white beards and do-rags on their heads. This bike makes me wonder why I ever rode cruisers.

Let's face it, motomi1, some of us ARE older than dirt! Thing is, for me, I don't feel a need for another bike. Quite enough adrenaline results from riding this one, and adrenaline is one of the best kept secrets for staying young... -bg

I noticed it BIG TIME. Thought at first it was all mental (having so much fun), but at this point I'm pretty convinced that there are some positive physical effects on the body of an older person. Maybe I'm crazy... -bg

bg, you are right about the adrenaline rush! I still can't get over the fact that you can get to 100 so quick and scare the green nickels out at the same time. Have you done any mods in terms of comfort?
