Been thinking for a whiiile now about getting just a Givi top case but no side bags.

Does anybody have any pics of their ZX set up this way?

I think it looks pretty good on the Concours, but the front of the Connie is higher ... windscreen, bars, etc, which may kind of balance out the look, not sure. Would like to see it.

Here's mine at Barber Motorsports Park AMA races a couple of years ago. Side bags are at the hotel and topcase is doing double duty as a beer cooler.

There are so many options and sizes that will work with those mounts. I think the max is a 52-liter. Mine is actually an old ZZR 1200 sidecase that a friend gave me. He had one left over after crashing on one side. Fortunately it's symmetrical, so it can work as a topcase. I think it's a 46-liter capacity.

Well, top cases are all-new to me ... never owned one ... so I hope I ordered the right stuff. I ordered:

- Black/Black Carbon Givi V47 Tech Monokey Top Case from Revilla ($292.50)

- Alu-Rack (SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Toprack to fit TraX, Givi & Other Topcases for Kawasaki ZX14R Ninja '06-'14 & ZZR1400 '06-'14) ($194.95) with Givi/Kappa Monokey Adapter ($41.95)

- 2013 Kawasaki OEM white replacement tail piece part number 36040-0059-25Y ($49.49).

I did the whole thing with the Giving 52 case from Twisted Throttle. You seem to have all the pieces correct.

Just remember you need the Euro tail piece which has the cut out for the tail handle bar. If not you will have to cut the plastic.

Right, and I believe I was told that my item number 4, the OEM replacement tail piece will do what is needed, which is under the section called "ACCESSORY (TAIL GRIP)". I guess we'll find out shortly. And if it's wrong I'll figure out what's needed.

I cut my little tailpiece. But first, I ordered one for cheap (used) off Fleabay and used it as a pattern. Still have it if anyone is interested in going that route. the only problem with using the "Euro" piece, which is intended for use with the optional grab bar, is it leaves nothing between the Alu-rack and the back of the seat.

Had to epoxy an extra stud to the back half and make a small bracket to accept a grommet to make cutting work, but since I like doing that sort of crap, it was no big deal. Of course, if I figured my time, I went in the hole compared to just buying the Euro piece.

I would've ordered it all from Twisted Throttle, but they were out of the Givi V47 Tech case, which I prefer over the regular one, and it's $20+ cheaper.

My Alu Rack covers that space where the tail grab bar would be. That is the reason you need the Euro Tail piece. With my Alu- Rack on the whole back is cover and protected from the rain , which I ride in often, back and forth to work.

Just took these close ups at work right now. :-)

I really need to just suck it up and buy that rack & top case. My work commute is 100 miles round trip and it would be nice to not have to do it with a bag on my back.

If you cut the stock piece, you get this:

But as I said, it requires you add and extra peg and grommeted bracket to the back half or it's a bit floppy.

Sorry about the poor-quality pics. They are a couple of years old, but you can see the extra pweg epoxied to the inside of the rear triangle above the taillight and the metal bracket and grommet from above.

So are you saying the one I ordered won't do the trick? When I search Honda East Toledo's OEM parts for Kawasaki > Motorcycle > 2013, the drop down list has 4 ZX14R variations, but none say Euro ... whereas some of the other models do say European in parenthesis.

So, how can I find the Euro version I need?

Twisted Throttle helped me back in 2008 when I got my top case. They had the tail piece. It was a different part # than the US ones. It was the only way I found it. If yours does not fit you might want to call/email them. They can probably find the part # for you. :-)

Well, Kawi tail piece part 36040-0059-25Y came in today, and I decided to ask Twisted Throttle if it's the right one. They said I need part number 36040-0059-H8

Oh, well, they also said the Alu-Rack and adpater is due in today, so I guess I'll find out soon enough if it all fits.

Edit: Yep ... 10 mins later the TT package has arrived.

I believe the 40R denotes the color, which for me is 2013 Green.

Aaah ... then I may have the right one. I ordered just the "cover-tail" piece from that kit. So I ordered part
36040-0059-25Y (white) out of kit 99994-0341-25Y (white) ... this for 2013.

And the kit # 99994-0341-25Y for my 2013 looks suspiciously like your kit # 99994-0341-40R.

Wow, this sucker is big. I've seen the same case on my friend's Concours, and it didn't seem to look so big! Haha!

Anyway, got it installed and mounted. Seems to work great ... oh, and the tail piece I bought is indeed the correct one; fits like a charm.

Nothin' y'all haven't seen before, but here are some pics ... oh and thanks again for all the help! The case works great. I can leave my helmet, jacket, gloves, a t-shirt, etc in it. I do feel a little windy blow around going on, but not bad at all, just a touch.

Looking good. I was going to say that a breezy day will give you some buffeting. But you will get used to it.
