Did you by any chance check the safety switch on your clutch lever? You seem to have touched on all of the other obvious possibilities but I didn't notice any mention of the wiring on the left handle bar segment. It appears that the left side of the bike took the brunt of the force so it's a possiblity that the wiring may have been damaged.
The bike ran until you physically turned it off. Give the clutch lever switch a quick glance and jiggle around with it and see if that does anything. It doesn't cost you anything, as they say.

I was under the impression that the bike was not turned off after the deer strike. So the clutch switch wouldn't make any difference on the ride home. Only after the engine was turned off and a restart was attempted would it make any difference. The same goes for the kickstand. It wasn't extended until AFTER the vehicle was shut off.
There has to be some relationship between the damaged sensors/wiring in the fairing and the no-start. Something somewhere is shorted to ground or completely open. There is possibly some relationship between the kickstand safety switch and the clutch switch. It's a possibility that the kickstand switch was tagged in the accident and now causing power to be cut as if the bike is trying to be ridden away with the kickstand down.
I love troubleshooting problems... it's just more fun when the patient is accessible. I don't believe the overtemp or the coolant level play any role so I'm thinking it's falling back on the safety devices.

It WAS turned off for about ten minutes after impact, but I turned it off myself.. It fired right up and I nursed it home... about three miles until the temp gauge got one from top..then I shut her down.
As of now, it still turns over strong as can be...Just won't fire up... With the help of Hub, Blue and a mechanic.. hours have been spent troubleshooting to no avail. My mechanic advised to take it to Kawi for a computer diag- which should give problem in minutes... said he would fix it for free once problem determined.. he is baffled and rarely gets whooped...
But yes, seems like it HAS to be either a switch or electrical issue SOMEWHERE....
