Hi I am having a issue with my zx14 it likes to get too hot when riding in the city but when I get going down the road it goes back down to only 4 bars is that normal or not?? And when I sit at a light or pull into the parking lot some where and shut it down the little black hose that comes from the over flow tank starts to let coolent come out of it what should I do?

had a zx11 before the 14 i got this feb.the zx11 use to cook my legs at long lights last summer...on a warm day here in k.c.,Ill get into the top bars. I got real nervous too,but I researched this on line and found in one of the forums that its totally normal.I think that Id read somewhere, your display will flash a warning if your temp. becomes critical.Like your gas gauge will flash a symbol when youve forgotton you should refuel...
Its totally normal to get the readings you descibed,Ride with peace of mind there.I putt-putt around the city for hours sometimes never topping 50mph...I dont give the temp reading a second thought and its never developed any problems for me.
My zx11 ran much hotter than Ive ever felt my 14 run...I think the 14 runs alot cooler than any bike Ive owned!!!

yah but is it normal for the coolent to run out of the over flow tube that connects to the radiator down onto the ground? Because my gsxr 600 dosn't do that matter affact I have seen my 600 get as hot as about 225 and never drain down on the ground but of course every bike isn't the say right I have owned a bunch of sportbike's right now I have a busa 1300, gsxr 600, a boulavrd 800, and now I own a ZX-14 which is not stock full exhaust, streched, lowered, and motor has been modified.
