So far I just got the sensor on the Vortex shift rod and the unit placed up by the left ram tube and the coils connected. So far all is good. As with many 14R mods the de-fairing process is the biggest pia. Once that was done, maybe 30 min to install and hookup. As long as your hands are good and mine still are, I could make the coil jumper connection with only one hand (required as 2 dont fit). Bike started normal and iPhone to unit pairing was zero problem.

I'll take some pic's and update tomorrow with a few install details.

On a scale of 1-5 hex wrenches so far this is a 1 maybe 2 if you have fumble fingers cause of the tight space above the coils.

Here is the load sensor on the shift linkage, Its the small black thing, looks like a lifesaver and about the same size. The control module is nothing and the web site has better stuff.

If the bike had the stock shift lever of course this would be different. The web page claims the sensor can be installed on the bolt that clamps the shift lever onto the shaft. They do provide a longer SS screw with the kit. The sensitivity is easily adjusted so this may work well also.

Set up is really simple. With a smart phone it was really easy to do. There is only a bit of adjustment required and settings on the app such as delay come set at 85 ms, redline and calibrating the rpm counter (didn't have to though) have to be checked and adjusted. Very user friendly.

Only got out on local streets after work so there was traffic. I have one nice long uphill road close with no driveways and was able to test 1-2 and 2-3 only a few times. Because of the acceleration and speed of the BBW its a challenge to test around town. I set the min operation on the QS module and my shift lamp at 8K rpm and the redline at 11500. Quick shifter worked flawless 1st test. Im not used to it and that seems like a bigger issue than the unit not working. Im not used to "not" rolling off the throttle a bit and the very first shift I think i may have. But the few hard throttle runs at ~9000 rpm shifter smooth fast and perfect. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I'm curious to know how it would work at 65 mls. --but I'm hesitant to recommend you try it. With my HM, I felt 90 mls was a bit jerky when the ignition came back on. It didn't seem hazardous shifting in a straight line but it wasn't smooth. Also, I could swear 90 mls was not faster than clutch shifting but I will have to try that again to confirm that.

I was able to get the BBW out for about 200 miles of fun in the local mountains to really test out the Healtech iQSP I installed. The BBW was always a beast and fast bike but now the driver can drive her to her blistering fast acceleration potential.

My high rpm shifts were only possible at track days a few sessions a yr and my lack of training and experience shifting while at awesome brutal acceleration was “clunky” at best on the track. But today on the freeway running up to Angeles Crest I was able to get lots of practice with the Healtech QS and it works flawless.

The basic delay is 80 msec and I have left it there and it works well. The force sensor on the shift rod I set at the initial configuration and may need a bit of adjusting. 1-2 and 2-3 shift I used the most as the bike is just so damn fast now with the iQSP and even at the shift lite set at 8000 rpm at 3-4 shift I’m at loose the bike and license and go to jail for a few days fast speeds. To many cameras and drivers with windshield cameras that will call the PoPo that a real speed run is not possible without the risk of serious legal jeopardy.

Guess I need to go way out into the desert and make sure that aren’t any wandering wild burros or snakes on the road and wring the BBW out like she deserves to be ridden hard and put away wet.

I really like the feeling of continuous linear acceleration with the set up. The Vortex rear sets are great and the Healtech iQSP is working flawless so far.

After 4.5 yrs of taking care of the BBW I now see what a fast bike she really is.

You just can't win. Go where there are no people and you will find lots of animals. I really expect I will be doing closed course events next year. That way I will keep my job, my drivers license and avoid hitting a deer.

I purchased this unit today and it will arrive within a week. In preparation of its arrival, I've been reading up and watching videos on how to install and unfortunately I've gathered that the side panels will need to come off. I've been avoiding doing any mods that required the removal of the side panels up til now, because I've heard and read how they're a pain to disassemble. Oh well, I guess it's time to get my hands dirty or either pay someone to install the unit if their price isn't outrageous.

They're not a pain IMO.Just careful handling and undoing tabs and such.Go slow.Follow the manual's instructions.You do have a 14 manual,yes?And don't force anything that looks like it's a bit more frail than some of the others.Use a lubricant on all the 'projections' mentioned.

I may give it a stab but if I can find a installer for a reasonable price I may go that route. I heard that it helps to have small hands when dealing with the ignition coils, and let me tell you by no means are my hands small..LOL

While reading the service manual it indicates that the spark plug setup is:

Cylinder Numbering Method 1-2-3-4
Cylinder Firing Order 1-2-4-3

When connecting the coil connectors from the Healtech harness, which one should I use as a guide for connecting...the numbering method or the firing order?

Oh wait, are their 4 kill wires? Then it's 1234

The 1243 is like 4 individual stroke positions of a 4 cylinder engine. This is the firing [compression] order of each stroke at 1 of their 4 strokes showing how 4 winds up there. But wiring wise, it's probably the same color wire of 4?

So it's like 4 wires soldered to one post. Does not matter who starts, unless they are measured off the unit?

Well...must say I'm proud of myself because today I conquered my fear of having to remove the fairings on the 14R. I watched a U Tube video on how to remove them and followed each step to a Tee with success. I ended up completing the Healtech QS install which was easy with the exception of the #3 ignition coil that was unreachable with my BIG hands, so I enlisted the help of my wife's hand and she snapped it in within 10 seconds. I wish I would've thought of her earlier because it would've cut my install time in half.

Anyway, I took the bike out for a quick spin and the QS shifts better than my standard/stock QS on my 2017 ZX10R.:) Although I would never use it on a regular to QS from 1st>2nd there's a noticeable delay shifting there most likely because of the longer travel from 1st to 2nd. All other gears shift buttery smooth and this is with the stock settings that was preloaded in the app. So it seems as though I won't need to tinker with the settings at this moment. I can't wait til the weather improves in my area so I can take it for a brisk ride in the higher RPM range using the QS.
