AdMore Lighting - LED lights for top and side cases....

The controller harness for my AdMore Lighting LED kit for Givi v35 PLX side cases was bad on arrival, throwing more than 1 Amp to the right side cable blowing the inline fuse. With a 10 Amp installed, it lights the LED up like the brake is in use. So the harness is toast.

I called AdMore, and they wanted a $50 deposit to send me a replacement harness, which they would refund on receipt of the old harness.

I told them I'd send the old one and wait for the replacment, I'm not paying them $50 to hold until they receive the old harness.

Cool kit, not very cool customer service.

Pictures of the light kit finally working, below.

Well, they received my bad harness back finally. They are in Canada, so I had to put a freaking commercial invoice on the box to get it through customs.

Lets see, its some wire and a blown PLC, worth 0 dollars, with no financial transaction involved, and they want a commercial invoice? Thank 9/11 for that bs.

I used to ship overseas, and import from Taiwan and Hong Kong and England, so was used to commercial invoices. They determined duties and stuff like VAT. Got pretty good at understating and word-weaseling.

So after they sent me 4 emails trying to find a way to make it my fault, they finally gave up and are sending me a new harness.

I think the part about "I can't imagine why you would build a controller harness where the PLC is not polarity and short protected" got them. They admitted their new kits have it, but older stock doesn't.

Hopefully they will send me new stock. LOL.

I have yet to get my wiring harness back, due to the Postal strike in Canada.

On the brighter side, they are sending me the latest version with polarity and short protection.

Still, takes a long time if you have a defective part, because Twisted Throttle will not do warranty service on AdMore stuff.

Got the new harness installed, and it all works great.

Love having turn signals, brake lights, and running lights out on my side cases now.

Do you have any pictures of the turn signals, brake lights, and running lights?

I installed the same Admore lighting package in my Givi V35 bags. There was a slight problem with one light assembly and Admore was ready to send me out a whole new part immediately. They clued me that it might be a faulty solder joint so I looked at it, found the problem, and fixed it myself. Admore seemed more than willing to help me any way they could.

As to the Givi bags themselves, the red plastic clips on the restraining straps are cheesy and I broke one. I retrofitted the clips on both sides with heavy duty clips salvaged from a backpack. Also, the plastic straps that hold the bags' covers half open are held in place by undersized screws that pulled out under normal use. When you look at it you can understand how poorly this is engineered. I haven't fixed that yet but will retrofit something substantial.

Overall, I'd rate the Givi bags as not great in construction.

My complaint was Admore insisted I ship the bad harness back to Canada in order to get a warranty replacement, instead of doing it through Twisted Throttle where I purchased it. So I had to pay out-of-country shipping and prepare a commercial invoice.

The new generation harness I eventually got has polarity and short protection built into it, as will all new Admore kits. Some of us have been, apparently, test cases for them.

As for the v35 PLX Givi side cases, I have no complaints. Yes, a pair of my little screws that anchor the lid straps pulled out when I took off without properly fastening the lid (nothing inside, but the elastic straps would have held it because I use liner bags) and it flopped open. By the time I could stop and pull over to the side, the screws were out, but still in the lid strap loop. So I close it up, went home, cleaned out the screw holes and removed the plastic shard from the screws, injected a drop of resin epoxy in each hole, and pushed the screws in with just a couple turns of the phillips screwdriver.

Its been just fine after 4 long trips so far, and they don't seem to be working lose.

As for the luggage straps, I've had no problems whatsoever with the red clasps. Sure they could be broken if you handle them clumsily, but I just fasten them normally and have no problems.

I think I've used mine for long enough to say I'm getting excellant service out of mine, with only the one problem which was completely my fault.

And after Edgecrusher went down, and you see how well his side cases stood up to the slide and impact, and protected the back of the bike pretty well, I think we can safely say they are quite sturdy, too. Heh.
