I live in the centre of a block of 7 units, occupants around my age and the sound when I start up reverberates around alarmingly. Question, can the beautiful Muzzys be dismantled and made quieter without reducing efficiency?

hehehe---they should be glad for you, donfre! It's not some kid out there, it's donfre! There are quiet bungs that bolt on the muffler exit but I don't know if Muzzy makes them and they are not exactly silencers. They all are going to cut your hp by a few. I say wait until 10 o'clock AM and then wind that be-otch up. do a burn out and wheelie the F out of the complex. You should have grandmas out waving their handkerchiefs at you!

Maybe it will not be the hankies waving as i leave that worries,it may be the frostie glares from one wife and 5 widows, and one widower on my return. Some years agoI got an exhaust expert to fit an inner baffle to the outer extension of a similar exhaust and the power and noise was not much different.I wondered whether the Muzzy box being bolted together, could be dismantled and fitted with a more efficient noise suppresent baffle without reducing the power to any degree.

I have a db Dawg but found it to be too quiet. I cut off the extensions and opened up the hole a little. Made it better without killing all the sound.
Of course I ended up taking it off completely when the neighbors I liked moved and new ones I don't moved in across the street. :-)
