28 is the number of years I've been planning this ride. In 1994 True Lies was released and I was captivated by the Overseas Highway bridge being blown to hell and just couldn't let it go. I can't tell you why it took me this long. I had the bike and the gear for years. I even learned how to fly in that time for crying out loud. I left Monday morning and got back this morning. 1800 miles in 3 days. Hundreds spent on gas and motels. Man what a frikken letdown ! That bridge looked NOTHING like it did in the movies ! I couldn't even get a decent picture by the southern marker because the line was half a block long so I had to take it while rolling by on the bike. My advice is to do things while you're young , stupid and broke. You will appreciate it more when you are older. Seriously though I had a blast and it was one hell of a ride getting there and back.

To me, the ride is the fun part. The destination is just the starting point to a new adventure.

Man what a frikken letdown !

Suzy, keep heading away on riding tours with your mates.
The letdown will soon be negated with a vast credit of amazing experiences...

To me it's the ride on the best bike I have ever owned, sharing the experience with the guys I ride with, getting away from the daily grind and to planned or unplanned destinations, and then putting the bikes and gear away and getting onto the beers with the locals and the touring like minded lads.

Very very hard to beat...

When I ride I really gotta have a destination, or I just don't enjoy it as much ... but the destination doesn't even need to be all that great. The thought of the destination motivates me, then the ride is (usually) the fun part

I seem to have several destinations depends on weather as to choice. Been a little behind for riding lately but plan on changing that ..And... Extrapolater .. I agree ..most of the time destination is a starter and ride is enjoyable part.
