De-clock throttle spring gives instant power
04/15/23 9:49 AM

I've got tendonitis and rheumatoid arthritis in my wrists from too much damn hand unloading over the last 65 years of hard labor; so when I bought my ZX14r in 2012 the first item was de-clocking the throttle spring.
My first adjustment in 2013 when I was only 62 yrs old.
Original position

Changed to here

Well, I'm 72 yrs old and I've reinjured my wrists doing a Brake job on my Pickup, cutting/digging root balls of bushes for my 88 yr old neighbor widow lady and removing/installing a garbage disposal for another older widow lady. Time to de-clock the spring more.
WOW what a difference!
I bought a 3/32" and a 5/32" roll pin from ACE Hardware. I took a piece of wire about the same diameter as my spring to make sure it would fit inside.

I added a screw (used RED loctite) to the empty hole on the injector housing and it catches the spring.

Forceps make a big difference. They lock and are thin. The Spring end is inside a long ways.

What a difference!
Instant power. I cannot imagine what the response would be with a reflash!
It cost me $.70 to do this.
I'll have to careful I can see me getting a speeding ticket.
Great weather for a ride. (we got 11.5" of rain in March; my Lake is real full, folks say 1"=1' to the lake)
