Im currently on the market for a Corbin seat for my 2008 ZX14. Only place ive been able to find one is on the Corbin website. any input would help. Reputable places perferred.

The Corbin seat that I have had for 49000 miles is still hard. I am going to use it on my Green 2012 when I haul passengers. They are about $500 new so I would look on line for a used one if you don't want to spend the money for new. Mine has worn very well. I understand that the seat from the Concourse will fit the ZX-14 and that it is now available in black as opposed the two tone for less than half cost of the Corbin. The Corbin lowering kit will fit all ZX-14 models but the 2012. For about the same price or even less you can go with Buel pegs that will do about the same thing and will give you a choice of two different styles and prices.

price wasnt a big factor. i was making an effort to order from a small mom and pop type shop rather than directly from the factory...

ive been doing a lil research on the corbin pegs and from the sounds of it people have been having problems with it pulling the rear break line pretty tight. do you know if the buell pegs have had the same proble?

No such problem with the Buell pegs. The problem with the Corbin system is that the system actually moves the brake assembly down and you have to make amends at where the line is attatched to a frame member. It is just a matter re-adjusting the hose. I have a set on my 08 but when I attempted to move them to my 2012 the right side will not fit. I just went to the black paddle style pegs from Buell.

Oh, you will have to pick up your new Corbin seat from Corbin. If a dealer buys from them and then sells to you I don't see you saving any $$$. Nose around and find a used one on line or find someone with a new late model C14 seat that they no longer need.

I ended up ordering through corbin. with the 08 there wasnt a need to adjust the pegs? buell sounds like a less pain in the ass.

The corbin peg lowering system involves using special plates that lower the attachment point of the pegs that come with the bike. The Buell pegs use the same stock mounting points but the pegs are designed with the peg attachment point higher and the foot area lower. If you look at a set on line you can see the drop. The amount of engineering needed to put on any of these systems and make them work is minimal.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but use the Buell Ulysses pegs. You can get them in black as well. Only need a little bit of grinding to make them fit, less than the other Buell pegs.
