K&N air filter
05/03/12 3:55 PM

I bought a new filter from a member here for $35,great deal.I had a Pipercross Racing filter.Too 0paque.Was worried about stuff getting in my engine.I been sick with pneumonia but this was easy.Alot of talk about dynotunes lately.Having Brocks Alienhead which I love brings some questions. Some people say he spends so much time at the dragstrip fine tuning them.Which is true but I don't dragrace, yet.I was noticing something today. In 6th gear at 3 grand it feels soft.4 grand it starts really moving.I know I can go to 4th and it will sing. When I hit 6 grand it starts screaming but I'm a real world guy 3-6 grand.Thats why I'm going to the dyno to fatten the middle. Also think about putting my 43 black hardened rear sprocket back on.Instant midrange.

If I'm sport riding 3K is only for take off and if you really need a fast takeoff, feather the clutch. All other situations, the option to downshift is always there and then you are in your big power window.

The 43 tooth will give you more acceleration if you pin the gas but it's still going to feel a lot stronger once you get over 3K. I have a 45tooth and its more power than I know what to do with.
