The tread is almost gone on my stock rear tire. I think I have another 500 miles of gentle highway riding. Rather than spoil a brand new tire on highway miles, I'd like to use this one up to baldness or maybe a bit farther. I beleive I've heard there is a marker inside of the tire if you ware it down that far. Is this true? Should I push the rear tire that far on a long trip?

I am straight up flat out wear out the tires faster than cornering, so I am played out in the center with the rise in place.

That front tire was fine for more miles. But if you can see it blue at the sides, it was cooking with that blue kind of rainbow tinge to it and this tire skates too much and is cooked out.

Even the ones I have now show about 1500 miles on them and they do not feel nice in the morning. I literally got of my bike yesterday was less than a mile where the bike was twitchy and jumpy kind of cold tires. So, I took my foot and kicked the tires to feel the pressure; thinking I was getting a flat?

Once they warmed up, it was nothing more than that setting pattern starting in where these tires are played that day. I would not want to throw it in a turn having that flat center and now roll from left to [flat center to] right. I think my same pattern is again looking the same/as the used tire profiles you see here with the safety marks not even close.

But I swap tires as fresh pairs, and I do not think you will make it, Rook. You need that extra cushion when on a long tour. You skate in a slight downpour or over gravel, you are going to roll over marbles with no channel to kick out some pebbles for some traction.

Those tires are done, Rook. Play it safe. This is where the squids and riders part ways. Who is thinking safety at any speed? Don't squid out in other words.
