Not sure of the brand, but, I'm running 90 degree valve stems on both of my bikes and haven't had any leakage...

I saw some polished steel 90 degree stems on Ebay. There are some very NOT fancy stems out there that have held to the tried and true sealing concepts that seem to be more foolproof. I think interior gromets or the good ol rubber plug are going to seal better than Bridgeport's exterior gromet (which is really just a tiny Oring that barely gets squeezed).

So Rook - I've just ordered the Bridgeports (before I read this)
Should I install them with my next tyre change, or sell them off....

hmmmm, oz14.... IDK??? I'd say keep them and try them. You will not have to air up on a daily basis. More like every couple weeks, I imagine. I am going to try an interior gasket and see if that seals it better. I am not an expert on these yet. Still a lot of trial and error. To me, if they keep enough air in the tire for a week, I can live with that.

Let us know what size you got. The 11 or the 12. See pics on p 1 of this thread.

I have them on order from Motomummy
Bridgeport 90 Degree Angled Valve Stem Set
bridgeport9011
Make : Kawasaki Sportbike

So I'm guessing the 9011 means 90 degrees, model 11?

Yep. I checked my invoices on my two separate orders and that is the item# Motomummy put on both. Both orders specify that 9011 is for Carrazzeria and it is indeed the valvestem with the 11 molded on the housing that fits the Carro valve stem hole.

I can tell you that the 11 also fit the OEM rim valve stem hole. I just do not remember if that OEM hole was large enough to accept the 12 which you see pictured above somewhere. I will be changing tires in the next few weeks and installing the other 9011 I have laying around to the front OEM rim. I will measure the hole to see if it is big enough to accept the larger diameter stem.

I must apologize. There is some confused info on this thread. I've done most of the talking and I seem to know the least. I will be going back and editting/removing stuff i posted before once i get this all figured out perfectly. For now, I can tell you the smaller size (11) made to fit a 8.3mm hole will work on the OEM zx-14 rim. Mine seems to seep air very slowly. Still have not determined if its a bad core or the O-ring is not sufficient. But I'm working on that and also fitting these stems to CZ rims which requires some actual modification of the part.

oz14, if you install these yourself, see if you can get some pics.

I had both tyres off for 3 days waiting for the motomummy order to arrive.
My steering damper mount was on back order and I've been waiting for this for months.
It shipped over a week ago, but USPS to Oz is ssslllloooowwww.

Sorry I couldn't wait - weather is perfect and I my tires are back on withour the new stems.

If only the tyres could have lasted another week...

I have a leaky valve stem on the front tire rim. Anyway to replace this without removing the wheel and taking off the tire? I don't need new tires yet. Maybe next summer. The leak is bad enough to keep it parked for now.

I would try replacing just the valve core. It screws out with a valve stem tool. Let air out first so it doesn't fly away on you. It might just be loose and you could tighten it with same tool. The torque is very light for a valve core so I'd say not much more than finger snug and not max finger tight. If you know for sure it is the stem that's leaking, I think your stuck. You could cut it off but I don't think you could press it in from outside the wheel.

You can break the front tire bead in a good bench vice if you are careful. Then I would cut the old one out and replace with the two piece valve that seals the fill valve stem with an o-ring nut inside the rim. When you go to re-seat the bead, remove the valve core so max air pressure flows into the tire. Then replace it and fill. Check it in the tub or a pool for leaks before you go thru the re-install process.

The leak is not from the core, I did a water test and it's coming from the bottom of the rubber stem where it sits on the rim. I decided to upgrade the rubber stems to 11.3mm right angle aluminum stems that won't leak. Seems the 2006 rims only allow an 8.3mm stem so I'll have to drill out a little to fit. I can get the 11.3mm stems for $5 each but cannot find an 8.3mm for less that $25. Freaking amazing!

The metal valve stems last a long time so I wouldn't worry about spending an extra 20$. I guess if you drill it, make sure the hole is no bigger than necessary or then you could be stuck spending a couple thousand on a new wheel.
